CITY OF AUXVASSE

Music On MainWe are excited to report the date for the concert is September 27th. We will be hosting The Kentucky Headhunters. Tickets are on sale at City Hall and online at Tickets are $15 in advance $20 the day of the show.MowingAs the mowing season continues, please be aware the ordinance does not allow for the grass or weeds to be taller than 10”. This is to assist in the control of pest and rodents for your property and your neighbors. Please take care when mowing to not allow the clippings to collect on the street, this can cause a hazard for vehicles during braking. Grass clippings are mostly water, so when tires from a car or motorcycle have clippings between them and the roadway, things can get out of control pretty quick. ... Use a blower and blow them back into the yard, use a broom to sweep them up, or cut in a manner that the grass gets thrown away from the street.Road DitchesPlease remember to keep the road ditches free of debris such as tall grass, leaves, branches and bagged lawn clippings. During rain events, any items in the road ditches could be transported by the water collecting in the road ditch. The debris could then become lodged around or in the culverts downstream creating blockages and hampering the effectiveness of the drainage system. Contractor's LicensesFor any of your upcoming projects please remember the city requires all contractors, conducting business in the city limits, to obtain a contractor’s license. These requirements insure your work is being completed by a contractor who is interested in protecting your property. Talk to your contractor and inquire if they have a license prior to starting the project. Licenses are available at City Hall.Pet LicensesAll dogs and cats who reside within the city limits of the City of Auxvasse are required to have a pet license. The licenses are renewed yearly at the same time as the pet’s rabies vaccination. The fee for the license is $5.00 per year. The license will aid the city in contacting the owner of the pet in the event they are loose and making sure the pet is returned as quickly as possible.Yard SalesDuring the beautiful summer weekends, it is always enjoyable for some to attend garage sales. The All Town Garage Sale is coming up on October 5th. As the purveyor of such wonderful wares, it is the duty of those hosting the sales to drive as much business to their display as possible through Facebook and vibrant signs and posters around town. While these are effective both before and during the sale, please remember to remove them at the conclusion of the sale day.House NumbersPlease remember each house or building within the City Limits is required to display their House Number. The House Numbers are there to aid emergency services, fire, health, and police, in locating individual locations quickly in time of need. The House Number should be located within 5 feet of the front door of the building and should be no less than 3 inches in height with the lines of the numbers no less than ?” in width. Building PermitsAs the wonderful weather of summer continues to provide us with more time outside, please remember for any of your construction projects, like an addition to your house, a garage or storage building, including pre built mobile sheds require a building permit. Permit can be filled out at City Hall and can usually be approved in a couple of days.
