The CDC is responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that was first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China and has now been detected in at least 50 locations internationally, including cases in the United States. The virus has been named “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”).? On January 30, 2020, the International Health Regulations Emergency Committee of the World Health Organization declared the outbreak a “public health emergency of international concern” (PHEIC).? On January 31, 2020, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex M. Azar II declared a public health emergency (PHE) for the United States to aid the nation’s healthcare community in responding to COVID-19.This is a serious disease that has the potential to negatively impact the citizens of Pennsylvania, including members of our Wing and their families.? COVID-19 is a communicable disease that is present in the U.S. and has the potential to negatively impact the personnel, overall readiness, and combat effectiveness of the 145 AW.? Mission Assurance is a top priority for the Wing in order to maintain our readiness and support both the state and federal missions.? Although no cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the state of Pennsylvania, new cases are predicted to emerge around the country and Pennsylvania cannot be considered immune from the consequences of this disease.? Our priorities must be to protect the health of our forces while conducting Mission Assurance through maintaining Readiness, Resiliency and sustaining Combat Power for the nation. The following guidance will be implemented prior to, and during upcoming RSD periods to ensure the 145 AW is, and will always be, ready to perform our missions:145 AW Commander’s Critical Incident Reporting (CCIRs)?Any 145 AW member who tests positive for COVID-19?Any 145 AW family member who tests positive for COVID-19?Any 145 AW member who has traveled CONUS to an affected area of the U.S.?Any 145 AW member who has traveled OCONUS during the last 60 days?Any death of a 145 AW member from COVID-19145 AW Commander’s Priorities?Mission Assurance through sustaining Readiness, Resiliency and Combat Power?Protect the Health of our ForcesReporting COVID-19 illness or any flu-like symptoms/illnessIf a 145 AW member (to include service members, T5, T32 technicians, state employees, and assigned contractors) reports positive test for COVID-19 – DO NOT HAVE THAT MEMBER REPORT TO THE BASEMember must immediately report the positive test to his/her supervisor.
