Science Department Grading PolicyThe following grading policy adheres to the current Assessment Principles and Practices (APP) provided by Bay District Schools. Anything not detailed below will be mandated by the APP Document.Gradebook Explanation95% Summative (Tests, Projects, Quizzes, Labs, Etc.)5%Formative (Daily Practice, Single-Standard Task, Homework, Etc.)Formative assignments are due by the date of the scheduled Summative AssessmentFocus Grade CodesNG - Not Graded: Assignment has been entered into gradebook but has yet to be graded (check assigned date and due date).** - Missing Assignment- Assignment is overdue. (will become zeroes two weeks after the due date)ReassessmentsReassessments will only be given to students on specific dates assigned by teacher.Reassessments will be offered for summative assessments provided that student has completed all formative assignments and have shown evidence of appropriate remediation, as determined by the teacher.Examples of remediation to include tutoring, study guides, use of remediation websites as recommended by the teacher, differentiated instructional packets, completion of INB at 80%, etc.Students must complete the reassessment and remediation within two weeks of the original assessmentIf the student scores lower on the reassessment than on the original assessment, the higher score will be recorded.
