Making the Grade: What grade did your school get?

Just like your child gets a report card, your child's school also got a report card. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is the agency in charge of public schools in Texas. TEA recently gave your child's school a letter grade (A-F). Find your school's letter grade at:

Get Involved

Your child's school needs you! Get involved by visiting your child's school to learn about things going on at the school. When you visit, meet the teachers, find out about events and ask how you can help.

We know you want your child to be successful. We want them to be successful too. Attending school every day will help your child be ready to learn. When students attend school every day, their reading skills often improve. Every school day counts. Be at school ? every day and on time.

Back To School Tips

Heading back to school can sometimes be hectic for families. Here are some tips to help get this school year off to a great start for your kid:

? Visit your child's school. ? Make a homework area at

home. ? Set a regular bedtime. ? Read with your child every

day.

Know Before You Go Did you know that you need a photo ID to visit your child's school? Here are some forms of ID that you can take to visit a school:

? Driver's license ? Mexican consular card ? Residency card ? Military ID card ? Passport card You will need one of these forms of ID to visit your child's school for lunch, parties, programs, Field Day and other events.

Loretta Burns

Community leader Loretta Burns will be honored with the 2019 Heroes for Children Award from the State Board of Education in Austin. Ms. Burns was nominated by Fort Worth ISD for her long-time work in helping children.

TAIL WAGGIN' TUTORS | FORT WORTH PUBLIC LIBRARY | 500 W. 3RD ST, FORT WORTH, TX 76102

Fitz, Honey, Ranger and Gabby are excited to meet friends ? new and old ? and hear fun stories at the Tail Waggin' Tutors "Back to School Kickoff Celebration" set for 1-3PM on Saturday, September 7, at the Fort Worth Public Library ? Central. The program invites children ages 6-16 to grab a book and practice reading aloud to one of the patient pooches. All four dogs are certified by Therapy Dogs International. Readers gain confidence and vocabulary skills, as well as an appreciation for the animals.

schools this summer.

The Classroom Library Campaign

grade classroom and 50 books in
