Online Report Cards: Are you on Parent Portal?
FA M I LY READER
Welcome to Read Fort Worth's monthly newsletter dedicated
to parents, students and families in our community where we'll pass on the latest news and tips to support you and your kids' ability and love
for reading!
Every day counts! Attending school every day helps your child stay on track. When your child misses school, they miss out on learning. Missed days can add up and can affect your child's grades. Be at school ? every day and on time.
Fall in Love with Reading
Here are some ways to help your child fall in love with reading: ? Read books about things
your child likes. ? Let your child pick books
at the library. ? Read together as a
family. ? Re-read your child's
favorite books.
To see your child's report card starting October 4, visit the Parent Portal at: parentportal. To register for Parent Portal, you will need your email address, your child's student ID and birth date. If you cannot register for Parent Portal, you can get your child's report card from their school.
Get Involved
Your school needs volunteers like you! There are many ways that you can volunteer at your child's school. But first, you must complete a Fort Worth ISD volunteer application.
How to Become a School Volunteer: ? Go to ? Create an account ? Agree to a background check ? Complete the application ? Pick the school where you want to volunteer ? Complete the orientation
Once you have taken these steps and your volunteer application has been approved, you can start volunteering at a school.
Fort Worth ISD: Let's Talk School Community Forums
You are invited to attend one of Fort Worth ISD's community forums. These forums are meetings for parents to talk about possible boundary changes for your child's school. School boundaries tell us which school our children can attend based on where we live.
