` Movie Trailer

Day 1: Getting Started

o Open H drive and create a folder called Movie Trailer

o Search for 8 images that relate to the person you selected.

o Search for images on Google

o Images must be 800 x 600 or larger

o Click on Picture, Then, Right Click on image and click SAVE IMAGE AS

o Save these images in your Movie Trailer folder on your H drive

Day 2: Adding Images, Videos & Title Page

o Open Moviemaker and save project to your Movie Trailer folder

o File, Save Project, change the name your file to Last Name First Name

Adding Images and Video Clips

1. Click on Add Videos and Photos, [pic] select your Movie Trailer folder in your H drive,

2. Select all pictures by Ctrl-A or hold down Ctrl and click on each picture, click Open

Adding Captions

To add a caption to an image:

o Select an image

o On the Home tab, click on Captions

o Type the caption, you can have it on the top, middle, or bottom of picture

o You can edit the alignment, text color and the font size and style

Adding Narration:

After all your captions are done, it is time to narrate your project

o Plug in your microphone in the left port and headphones in the right port before Recording Narration

o A Dialogue box may appear, check volume, click OK, then close.

o Select each image to narrate (the black bar should be at the beginning of the image)

o On the Home tab select Record Narration

o Select Red circle to Record, blue square to Stop

o A Save Narration box will appear, change the Location to your Movie Trailer folder and name the recording the slide # before you save

Your narration must be shorter than the duration of your slide!

To adjust the duration: Click on slide, under Video Tools, Edit adjust the video duration so it is longer than the narration.

o Narrate each image. The narration should appear under your image in orange.

To insert a Video Clip from YouTube: Must download video as mp4!

*VIDEO MUST BE NO LONGER THAN 4 MINUTES)

Steps on how to download YouTube video and convert to mp4:

1. Google youtube to mp4. You may need to try a couple sites if some are blocked.

2. Paste youtube url into white box and click convert.

3. Click Download

4. Scroll down until your see 720p, mp4 and click red download. (bottom right, largest size file)

5. /Video will appear on screen. Click on the 3 dots.

6. Click on Download and save to your Movie Trailer, Video folder in your H:Drive.

Trimming Video Clips:

The imported YouTube videos should be no longer than 30 seconds.

Video Tools Tips: Edit Tab

To trim a video clip:

a) Double click on the clip

b) Click on the Trim tool

c) Drag the left slider to the starting point you want, drag the right slider to the ending point

d) Click Save Trim.

Adding Title to Movie Trailer

For your opening Title, click on Title on the menu bar on Home tab

o On your title screen, type the person you selected

o You can edit the alignment, text color and the font size and style

o You can change the background color also by clicking on Background on menu bar

Inserting Background Music

o Select your first slide.

o On the Home tab, select Add Music, Free Music Archive

o Pick a Genre, under Duration type in 4:00 to 5:00 and check off Only Instrumental (left side)

*Pick music that is not distracting; it should compliment and fit your person.

o Click on Go

o Select one and download to your Movie Trailer, Audio folder

o Once your music is in your folder select the first image (Title), click on Add Music and this time select Add Music by clicking open.

o Find the music in your Movie Trailer folder (it will have an orange cone icon next to it

o Click Open. The music should appear in green under your images.

o On the Menu bar, Select Music Tools, click options on Music Volume, adjust the volume to low to make sure your narration is heard over your music.

Adding Closing Credits:

After the last image, you can create a Closing Credits screen

o On the Home tab, click on Credits

o Type in your name and any other information

Save your project!

**** YOUR MOVIE MUST BE SAVED AS A mp4 Movie ****

Click: File tab

Click: Save Movie

Choose: For Computer

Save to your H drive in your Movie Trailer folder

**Name of Movie should include both your name

and your partner’s name.

Directions to Submit Your Movie

Make sure you have saved your file as a Movie! [pic]

Go to your teacher’s website, click on the link to Submit Your Movie.

- Please click on the link of your period. You will be asked to log into your O365 account.

-A folder will open, click on UPLOAD, select your movie [pic] from your H drive, then, click on OPEN. Your file will be uploaded into the folder.
