FEBRUARY 1, 2016 STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

CLUBS:

A-Team will meet each Wednesday 8th period in Coach Morton’s room.

Book Club will meet Wednesday, February 10th and 24th at lunch in the VML

Builders Club: Will meet the first Friday of each month.

Chess Club: Will meet each Thursday at lunch in the GT room.

FBLA: Will meet each 4th Tuesday at 10:15 in Ms. Bliss’s room

FCCLA: Will meet the 2nd Thursday 7th period in Ms. Utter’s room

Mine Craft: Will meet each Friday in the VML 8th period

Stock Market Club: Will meet weekly at lunch on Fridays in Mr. Bremer’s room.

Student Council: Will meet the 2nd Friday of each month during 8th period and as needed.

Talent Search: Will meet as called

Youth Alive Group: Will meet each Monday at lunch in Coach Morton’s room.

FCA will meet Monday, February 1 at 11:20 at the field house. There will not be a meeting that night.

Students who need a coat need to see Ms. Lyle.

Any student interested in selling suckers for the middle school fund raiser needs to pick up a permission form in the middle school office.

Students who arrive at school early need to report to the sports arena. It opens at 6:30 each morning.

Basketball:

FREE THROW COMPETITION: A free throw competition is being held for boys and girls ages 9 thru 14. The contest, sponsored by the HSV Knights of Columbus, will be Saturday, January 30 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Jessieville Sports Arena – Safe Room facility. Winners for each age group will receive tickets to a UALR basketball game and will be awarded plaques as well as be eligible to enter the district competition in February. All entrants will receive a certificate of participation. All interested boys and girls are encouraged to enter and may sign up at the event Saturday morning.

Honor Roll Assemby in the PAC – February 5 at 2:40. Students will be dismissed to buses.

Progress Reports Due – February 5

State Basketball Tournament – March 1 – 4 (School will dismiss at 1:30 each day)

End of third nine weeks – March 11

Parent/Teacher Conferences – March 17 3:30-7:30 in the Safe Room

Spring Break – March 21 – 25

PARENTS: When a student has been absent, you must turn in your dr.’s excuse to the office within 6 days or it will not be accepted.

Fusion will pick up students at the Jessieville campus each Wednesday at 3:10 and 4:30.

VML: The VML is now open from 5:00 – 7:00 Tuesday and Thursday evenings for students needing to use computers for assignment completion, homework assistance, or checking out books.

Lunch Rules: Students may use the blue hallway restrooms at lunch. No students are allowed in the Foshee hallway at lunch without permission. Students must pick up after themselves and if this does not happen you will be asked to clean tables.

Car Riders: Middle School afternoon car riders will be picked up down by the grass where the buses are parked in the right hand lane. If the student has an elementary sibling that is a car rider, pick up is at the Safe Room.

Beginning August 31, the Jessieville Sports Arena will not allow any outside food or drink to enter the building during a sporting event.  Concessions are provided at all times. There will be trash cans available or picnic tables to finish your food before you enter the event. This includes students, teams and spectators.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Fundraisers:Eye black stickers may be purchased in the middle school office before school, at lunch, and after school. The price is $2 for a pair of stickers.
