Counselors and Advanced Placement

What's Advanced Placement? The Advanced Placement Program (AP) enables willing and academically prepared students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school.

The program consists of college-level courses developed by the AP Program that high schools can choose to offer, and corresponding exams that are administered once a year.

What's New? AP is changing in the 2019-20 school year. To support student success, we're moving exam registration and ordering to the fall and introducing new AP resources.

There's no change to the annual June 15 invoice due date.

How Can you Prepare? To help your school community prepare for these changes, they're many trainings and webinars such as the ones listed. In addition, visit ap-next-steps for more detailed information and to download the materials. Learn more about the 2019-20 changes to AP: ap-tools

"It was helpful to hear multiple webinars about the new AP Program resources and supports for the 2019-20 school year because different questions were posed, and I was able to think creatively and produce helpful ideas based on information shared." --Eric Hennes, School Counselor, Bishop Moore Catholic High School, Orlando, FL
