How to get a H1 in Leaving Cert French - Microsoft

How to get a H1 in Leaving Cert FrenchBy Last year, I managed to get 7 H1’s in my 7 Leaving Cert subjects, making me one of 63 students in the nation. This included a H1 in French which was largely obtained by using the following tips. First and foremost, for the written composition section, I trawled through websites and compiled a list of key phrases that could be used again. For example, “je suis d'accord” (I agree) or “ce texte soulève le problème de” (this text reveals the problem of). Such phrases can be re-used year after year and adapted, if necessary. For instance, instead of "texte," you may need to use "image." Furthermore, I studied a long list of link words such as "En Plus" (furthermore) & "En Revanche" (in contrast) which helped to bulk up my answer and get closer to my target answer length. As an aside, aim for between 150 & 180 words for the 90-word question. I followed the format of an introduction, 2-3 body paragraphs & a conclusion and fortunately, it worked perfect in the mocks and in the Leaving Cert. In terms of the vocab for the opinion piece, I would advise against learning off sentences and essays for each topic as you have to be able to clearly register with the question, as opposed to going a bit off-topic and losing vital marks. Instead, compile vocabulary sections for each key topic of the written expression. Indeed, for the aural and reading comprehensions, one of the best tips I can give LC students is to start documenting any words you don't understand in a list of vocabulary. Recite the list on a regular basis (possibly even aloud to understand pronunciation for the aural) and the words will become natural to you. Nevertheless, I warn that this can be a rather time-consuming process of compiling this list. Also, for the reading comprehension, practice is the only effective way to gain higher marks. Practice helps you understand what is classified as "extraneous material" (which is punished), what the key verb in the questions mean and where manipulation is required. For the oral exam, notes geared towards potential questions are the only way to get a high mark.If you are searching for a complete set of Oral Notes, you can visit my website?. These Oral Notes are an exact replica of the notes I used for my Oral and feature rich, idiomatic language, possible links to other sections & vocabulary sections explaining complex terms. They will save you precious time in a time-constrained year. Instead of spending countless hours thinking of possible questions and answers, you can focus on just studying H1-quality notes & becoming a natural in French.?Also, I will soon upload a copy of my vocabulary list, with vocabulary from every State Exam from the past 14 years, the syllabus topics and mock exams.I hope these concise guidelines and my website will be of assistance to French students, both in the mock and in the actual LC French exam.?Grinds are absolutely not necessary to gain that elusive H1 grade. In lieu, studying the right notes on a regular basis is what is crucial to gaining a high grade. Finalement, bonne chance ? ................
