Frequently Asked Questions1. What do I need to know? Discounted parking for fitness center members is now available only during designated off-peak hours. Starting July 1, 2019, UCSF parking rates for UCSF Fitness & Recreation members are:Peak hours:Monday – Friday, 8:30 am - 4:45 pm $4.00 per hour (public rate)Off-peak hours: Monday – Friday, exit before 8:30 am, enter after 4:45 pm, including all day on Weekends and University holidays $2.75 for up to 3 hours, with validation$4.00 per hour – after three hoursThe discounted off-peak rate is available at the following parking garages:Millberry Union Garage, ParnassusCommunity Center Garage (Rutter Center), Mission BayThird Street Garage, Mission BayPlease note, these rates are effective July 2019 – June 2020, and parking rates are evaluated annually.2. Are there other options for my membership?An Off-Peak Premier Membership may help offset parking fees. The cost is $59 per month, and is available through August 31, 2019. Entry times to the fitness center are Mon-Fri 8-11am, 1-3pm, 8-10pm, and Sat-Sun 1-8pm, and members can stay at the fitness center as long as they like.????5. Why is there a charge for parking at times when the garage is not full?Even when the garage has low occupancy, Transportation Services still incurs operating costs. For that reason, all parking facilities at UCSF charge for parking on a 24-hour a day, 7-day a week basis.?6. How do I pay for parking?For those of you who park during non-peak hours, a self-serve validation machine will be available at the front desk of the fitness center. Upon exiting the parking garage, pay at the cashier booth, or at any self-service kiosk.7. Do seniors get a discount on parking?The University is unable to offer additional discounts on parking costs for seniors. However, Fitness & Recreation will continue to offer a discounted membership rate for seniors.8. Is this change in accordance with my membership contract?The implementation of a parking fee is in accordance with the Fitness & Recreation’s membership contract.?
