of amazing museums, gardens, and destinations. If you receive CalWORKs or CalFresh, you and your kids can visit these places for free.

How to visit for free: 1. Check dates when admission is free and

for whom. At some destinations, admission may be free all the time for everybody. 2. Make sure you bring ID (California ID, military ID, proof you live in LA County, etc.). 3. If the Golden State Advantage Card (EBT Card) is necessary to get in for free, make sure you bring it, along with a California ID. 4. Only general admission is provided free of charge. Special exhibits or attractions are not included in this program and may have an extra fee. 5. Many destinations are closed on holidays. Before visiting, call or visit the website for up-to-date information.

1 African American Fire Fighters Museum

The museum has vintage fire engines, uniforms, photographs and authentic firefighting equipment. In addition, visitors see and learn how being a firefighter was different during segregation and desegregation.

2 American Museum of Ceramic Art (AMOCA)

AMOCA houses five galleries with a rotating exhibition program that explore current issues, illustrate specific ceramic techniques, and/or showcase objects of historical significance. Ageappropriate tours, lectures, family days, and other education and outreach programs complement the exhibitions, and adjacent to the exhibition halls is a 12,000 square-foot ceramics studio, one of the largest in California, offering a range of classes in wheel throwing, hand building, and advanced techniques, along with multi-day workshops led by acclaimed ceramists.

3 Annenberg Space for Photography

The Annenberg Space for Photography features several powerfully-themed exhibits a year as well as photography-oriented programming, including lectures, workshops, master classes and family-friendly events.

4 Arboretum of Los Angeles County

In the 127-acre garden of the Arboretum, families can enjoy nature, plants and wildlife. Experience a tropical jungle, a historic home and a magical waterfall.

5 Armory Center for the Arts

10 California Science Center

11Craft Contemporary

Craft Contemporary is special because it is a place to both see art and make art. Tying into exhibitions, Craft Contemporary coordinates a robust roster of hands-on workshops led by professional artists and instructors. 13Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising Museum (FIDM)

FIDM Museum has one of the nation's finest fashion collections of more than 15,000 objects, dating from the 18th century to the present. Annually, the museum hosts the movie industry by presenting its highly anticipated exhibition, The Art of Motion Picture Costume Design, which salutes the work of motion picture costume designers from major films, including Academy Award winning and nominated designs.
