AFLAC EXCITING LIFE
By Afton Keiser
Lights! Camera! Action! We will take a break with a commercial and when we get back you’ll take a wild journey with AFLAC’s life!
“AFLAC! AFLAC!”
Yeah I’m coming!
Hi, My name is AFLAC. Well that’s not my real name it’s my nickname. My real name is Afton Keiser. Now the wild journey will begin.
I was born on September 2nd, 1991 at McKennan Hospital. I was born at 5:36 pm. I weighed 6 pounds and 13 ounces my and height was 19 ½ inches. My parents named me Afton Marie Keiser. I’m the first child in my family. If I were a boy, my name would have been Daulton Jay Keiser. When I was in my mom’s tummy I was turned the wrong direction and I was face down. My mom had a hard time when I was born, (she really did labor on Labor Day) but I had no problems when afterward.
I have a family of 5 and if you count my dog, it’s 6. My mom’s name is Renee Marie Smart Keiser and she is 41 years old. She works at Citibank in the 3rd building. She is the coolest and funniest mom I know. My dad’s name is Kenneth Jay Keiser but we call him Ken. He is 39 years old. He also works at Citibank in the 3rd building. He is the best coach I could ever have in soccer and basketball.
I have a younger sister named Kylie Renee Keiser. She has red hair like my mom. She is in 4th grade and has Mrs. Price for her teacher. She plays a lot of sports like me. She is the most annoying person you’ll meet in your life! I have a younger brother named Daulton Jay Keiser. He looks like my dad and I. He is in 1st grade in Mrs. Tunge’s class. He plays a lot of sports like me, and he doesn’t get tired as easily as my sister and I. He is the craziest little boy you’ll meet in your life!
I have a big family on my mom’s side. I look up to my older cousins. I don’t know any cousins on my dad’s side. My cousin Jarod Smart is married with no kids. My cousin, Briar Greenway, isn’t married but lives in California. He is a good role model for his younger cousins. My cousin, Jena Smart, is in college and has a really nice boyfriend, Adam Smith. I really look up to her as I grow up.
I also have younger cousins. Jace Bunkers, most of you already know him. Jace is 6 months, 5 days, 12 ½ hours younger then I. Jace is a really friendly guy and he is good at sports. My cousin, Kara Bunkers sometimes tries to be like me. Kara is a really caring girl and she is really good at sports. I have a lot more cousins, I don’t even know!
My mom’s parent’s names are George and Donna Smart. They are retired. They live here in Sioux Falls, SD. My grandpa gets called by a lot of names like Wally, Wallace, grandpa, and dad. My dad’s parent’s names are Miriam and Gaylan Keiser. My grandpa Keiser died when I was 5 years old. (I really miss him!) My grandma is retired and lives here in Sioux Falls, SD.
The saddest day in my life was when my grandpa Keiser was only 5 years old. He was a really nice guy! He would let me do anything I wanted to do. That meant coloring on the wall, if I wanted to! I’m really sad, and miss him a lot!
I have a Chihuahua named Chazba Jay Keiser. He weights11 pounds and is 3 years old. He looks like the dog on the Taco Bell commercial. He likes to chew things out of the garbage and bags. He went to dog training and failed big time! He is the fastest in my family, duh, because he is the only dog in my family! He loves to cuddle with us.
I love to go places in Sioux Falls or out of Sioux Falls. I love to shop all the time. My favorite part of shopping is having mom and dad pay for it. I like to sit down and watch UNC boys basketball when it is on TV. I also play the piano but I don’t really like it.
I love to play soccer! I started when I was 4 years old. I’ve been on a lot of teams. The best teams I’ve been on are Lewis and Culver’s. When I was on Culver’s team, we won 1st place in the league. On the Lewis team, we won 1st in the league and got 1st in a tournament! The team I’m on Lewis now and If we get 1st, 2nd, or 3rd we get to go to State! I play sweeper and midfield. One of the reasons I love soccer is because I can run fast. I’m faster than a lot of the girls in the league. So, if the other team has a brake a way I can try to get back and stop them from shooting!
The happiest day in my life so far was when I got invited to a soccer tournament! I was so happy because it just wasn’t any soccer team, they were 2 years older then me! They wanted me to play with them even though I was 2 years younger! I got to play a lot I even scored a goal! We ended up getting 2nd place!
I also love to play Basketball! I started when I was in 3rd grade. I’ve played on 3 teams since starting. The best team I've played on was the Hot Shots! The Hot Shots got 1st in the Tri-State tournament. We got 2nd in 2 other tournaments. I play guard and sometimes forward. Sometimes when the other team is dribbling I can steal the ball and go for a lay-up! It’s also fun to play with my friends!
I play softball in the summer when I’m not playing soccer or basketball. I started in 2nd grade. I’ve been on the same team but different names. So that’s the best team I’ve been on! I play shortstop and sometimes 1st base. One game I was playing shortstop and the other team hit it over my head. I jumped and caught it! I was so happy and I couldn’t believe I did that!
The funniest memory was in softball in 2002. We were playing in a tournament. In the 5th inning I hit a single! Then someone hit a double so I was on 3rd base then someone else a double and our coach told me to run home so I did! On the way home I tripped half way home. We really needed the run to win! Then the other team was trying to throw the ball home! I didn’t have time to get up and run so I rolled home! I was safe, I was so happy I got home! After the game we all laughed because of my trip!
I like to play sports and run! I like going to school every day, when we have school! I love going and playing with Jace, Kara, and other cousins. I have fun playing with my friends at school. It was fun when the boys would take our hats and we would take their hats.
I hate when I have to read out loud in front of a class. I hate my sister and brother bugging me. I don’t like it when my friends call me names like freak or dumb. I don’t like when my friends take my things and don’t give it back until I say I’m going to go tell the teacher.
I like to watch TV on Disney but there are other channels I watch too. I love to watch UNC on cannels 47, 48, or 50. I cheer them on with my dad! At night I like to watch Boy Meets World, Lizzie McGuire, Smart Guy, That so Raven, and Evan Stevens. Sometimes I watch Trading Spaces on channel 44.
I like to watch movies too. My favorite movies are Like Mike and Bring It On. I own both movies. I’ve watched both movies so many times I can’t count! Like Mike is about a young kid that plays pro basketball.
Bring It On is about cheerleaders and their dances.
In August 2002, my family went to Texas for a vacation. My dad drove there and back. It took 2 days down and 2 days back. My dad, mom, sister, brother, grandma, and I went to Texas to visit my uncle and aunt.
My family and I went to my uncle and aunt’s house. My uncle makes things out of leather. Some things he makes are; pictures, covers for toilets, and a lot of more! You should see his truck! He made things to cover his seats, steering wheel cover, all of his sides of the doors are covered, and in the side of the door is their initial. He said it took him 3 years to do his truck. My aunt and uncle gave us kids $50 each to spend! They didn’t give my parents anything!
We went to Sea World in San Antonio. We went shopping there, we went on a lot of rides. My mom and dad went on a roller coaster with me. It went up side down and all a round! It was kind of funny when we were in line waiting. There was this bigger lady trying to get in the seat but couldn’t fit. So she couldn’t go on the ride. We got to pet and feed the dolphins. It was a lot of fun! We went to see the sharks and other fish too.
We were on our way back home. I was looking out the window and I saw a water park and it looked like fun! I asked my mom if we could go there next time we came to Texas. She said maybe next time we can go. We went shopping on the way home. We got home late that night.
Easter is a special time when the Smarts get together at Aunt Suzie’s house. My fondest memory was when all my cousins came from Sioux Falls, Iowa, and California. We have an Easter egg hunts. All my older cousins would hide the Easter eggs outside. Then all of us younger kids would go find them. Then the younger kids would hide them and the older kids would go find them. Then we have a pillow fight. We get all the pillows we could find. Then we’d just start throwing them at each other. Last year my brother Daulton blew out the candles and got wax on his face! He was crying so hard you could hear him outside. He was ok though.
One week I was really sick with Bronchitis. (This isn’t award or anything like that.) A guy my parent’s work with asked if I wanted to play soccer with his Dakota Gold team in Blain, Minnesota. He coached girls 1 year older then me. I said, “Yes” but I couldn’t play a lot because I was sick. I scored 1 goal in the tournament. I was proud of myself for going out there and trying my hardest. So, to me, that was an award for me to play with girls older then me.
I hope I pass 5th grade. When I get to middle school I want to play on the basketball or the soccer team. (If they have one.) I want to be on the Destination Imagination with my friend Molly and maybe some other friends. In high school, I want to be on the Roosevelt’s basketball team and soccer team! I want to get good grades and pass high school and go to college.
When I pass high school I want to go to college. The college I want to go to is the University of North Carolina. I want to get a doctor’s degree and play on the basketball and soccer teams. Then if I don’t make pro soccer or basketball, I want to be a doctor. I want a family some day. I want to live in a Mansion with a swimming pool, a basketball court, and soccer net. Also be really rich too.
I hope you liked the wild journey of AFLAC’s life! Now you can get back to the show you were watching. But first we will go to a commercial.
“AFLAC! AFLAC!”
“Ok! Ok!”, I guess I’ll have to say bye now before your show comes on!
