Slide 6 - Approvals Based On Content Types

[pic]

Slide notes

Oracle Fusion Profile Management provides the capability to define approvals for each content type, including a custom content type. To require approval, select the Approval Required check box on the Content Section page for a profile type. This feature was available in previous releases but the approvals for all content types were routed to the same approver and you could not set up different approval rules for each specific content type.

You set up your approval rules using the HCM Approval Rules User Interface and route approvals to alternate persons based on each Content Type. There, you can set up different approval rules such as different approvers, for each content type. .

Slide 7 - Access Talent Profile Data By Matrix Managers

[pic]

Slide notes

Prior to Release 9 Update 2, the person profile was based on a profile type that had profile type content sections that correspond to the subscribing content types. The content sections include Competencies, Languages, Degrees, etc. The three profile type roles, HR Specialist, Line Manager, and Employee, could be configured at each content section level. These roles control access to content sections for a Profile. For managers other than Line Managers, (e.g., Project Manager, Resource Manager), it was not possible to configure profile access specifically to fit because the Content Section Access was specific to line managers.

For Release 9 Update 2, Oracle Fusion Profile Management now provides the ability for users to configure access to talent profile data (both person and job profile) for managers other than line managers, referred to as matrix managers, via a new Profile Type Role Code. This access is set up at the Content Section Access for each Content Type with view and update access. A new lookup code ORA_MATRIX_MGR with a description of Matrix Manager was added to the lookup HRT_ROLE_CODE so that Matrix Manager is displayed as part of the lookup in the Content Section Access and you can add access to Matrix Manager to the selected content type. In addition, if the matrix manager makes changes to an employee’s profile or interest list an FYI notifications will be sent to workers.

Now, matrix managers can have access to some or all content types in a person profile. They can also receive notifications as to when those specific content types that he/she has access has been added or updated.
