I. Chandra X-ray Observatory (CXO or Chandra):

= amazing website with in-depth coverage of CXO and its findings; primary

site for CXO

= Classroom Ready Activities

= Chandra EPO Resources Request Form = for general

materials: posters, postcards, bookmarks, lithos, CDROM, coloring book)

= NASA’s site on Chandra; many links

lead to first website.

= Deep Space 9 (DS9) download site and associated education

activities.

II. Hubble Space Telescope (HST or Hubble):

= Space Telescope Science Center Institute

= NASA’s main site for HST

= HST multimedia gallery, images, highlights, education units

= Highlights of HST observations

= European Space Agency (ESA) website on HST

= NASA Quest site on HST. Quest is a website for kids.

= Highlights of the Best of HST with good explanations of the images.

= site designed for informal educators such as planetarium and museum

educators

III. Compton Gamma Ray Observatory (CGRO or Compton): (mission ended in 2000)

= provides overview of mission and details on

instruments; primary website on CGRO

= brief description of mission and highlights of its

findings

= Gamma Ray Astronomy website; includes findings of CGRO

IV. SWIFT:

= NASA website for SWIFT mission to study Gamma-

ray Bursts.

= education and public outreach website

= real-time Gamma-ray burst webpage from SWIFT

V. Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope (FGRST):

= NASA site for Fermi.

= educator site for Fermi.

VI. Spitzer Space Telescope(SST or Spitzer)

= primary Spitzer website with great resources.

= educator section of the above website; includes numerous

classroom activities and labs

= SST section of above main website

= section of main website for astronomers; has great details

VII. Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX):

= NASA site for GALEX mission exploring galaxy evolution in

ultraviolent.

VIII. Jet Propulsion Laboratory: NASA’s center for the missions to explore the Solar System.

= homepage with links to all solar system exploration missions both current

and historical including rather large collections of images from the current

missions and smaller collections of historical missions.
