Subdivison Growth in Dickinson ISD

[Pages:2]The Dickinson Independent School District Board of Trustees has unanimously called for a $70 million district bond election. The proposal calls for the construction of the district's second junior high school to serve students in grades 7-8 . It will be located on property the school district currently owns on Strom Road. The new school would accommodate the district's growing student enrollment, and would open in August 2018.

No Tax Rate Increase... If approved by voters, the cost of the bond will NOT increase the school district tax rate. Taxpayers would continue paying the same in school property taxes, provided there is not an improvement to the residence that increases the taxable value or the home's appraised value increases. The district's current tax rate is $1.54 per $100 home valuation.
