The Role
The primary function of the Key Account Developer is to sell public courses to new and existing accounts. To manage, retain and expand existing client relationships.
The initial and future responsibilities of this role will include that of:
• A medium term strategic approach to relationship building.
• Using a strategic approach to identify, target and penetrate organisations with needs appropriate to PTI’s products.
• Linking PTI’s capabilities with the client’s business issues and strategic objectives
• Focusing on developing new accounts and clients via active business focused prospecting.
• Sales focus on product quality rather than on cost
• Increasing future revenue spend from existing accounts
• Go to public courses to network and external meetings when necessary
• To develop PTI onsite course leads through existing relationships

PTI – Pharmaceutical Training International, provides technical and regulatory courses for Quality and Compliance related activities. Using its network of experts and curriculum knowledge for specific job functions, PTI provides training to help pharmaceutical, biotechnology, drug delivery and medical device professionals meet performance goals and sharpen professional skills in the following areas:

There are three sides to PTI as a business:
1. Public courses – Key Account Developer
Every year PTI hosts well over 100 public training programmes on a wide range of subjects such as, Regulatory Compliance and Pharmaceutical Business Strategy. Courses range in length from two to three days and are usually held in Central London and mainland Europe. Class sizes are restricted to ensure knowledge transfer and maximum personal tuition.
All our courses are CPD certified.
2. Distance Learning - Key Account Developer
This is the newest product range for PTI. This 10 week self study format is becoming more popular as it allows delegates to work at their own pace and at times that best suits them. They are contact with the trainer via email which they can use as much or as little as they like. An end of study exam ensures certification.
3. Customised performance improvement solutions – onsite
PTI delivers in-house training programmes for our clients all over the world. The emphasis of our work in this area is to bring about a direct performance improvement as a result of our training interventions. These programmes are carefully aligned to address the specific business issues and needs that a client is facing.

UK Business
At present the bulk of PTI’s business comes from the public training courses. Over the last 2 years the business has been making the transition to focus more on performance improvement as opposed to the traditional model of training. Our ultimate goal is to build the in-house performance improvement business to match that (in revenue terms) of the open public courses.
We now require an additional Key Account Developer of the highest calibre to join a successful team and take the business to the next level.
Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
• Well educated with experience in a scientific or pharmaceutical field
1. At least one years’ demonstrable sales experience
Track record of achieving revenue targets in a new business capacity
A knowledge of the training industry (Needs Analysis, Evaluation, Development etc) and/or the Life Science industry would be beneficial
Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Confidence and maturity to command respect in all areas of the PTI business (internally and externally)
Independent, but equally able to work as a productive team member and continue to promote company culture and values
Someone who can demonstrate motivation, ambition and tenacity, with a naturally inquisitive and persuasive nature
Ability to take action on directions from senior management
• Flexibility of approach to operate effectively within a dynamic and demanding environment, and ensure that barriers to entry are not prohibitive of success
Working Hours
* Hours 8.am – 4.30pm Mon-Thurs, with one hour for lunch. Friday 8.00 – 4.00pm, 30 minutes for lunch.

* Annual leave: Starting at 20 days holiday per annum (pro-rata), 10 of which must be taken during July/August. Annual leave will increase to 22 days after 2 calendar years, with an extra day per year subject to a maximum of 25 days.
