Prayer before Reading God's Word:

"Avinu Malkenu, our Father and King, as I begin to read your Word, help me `to receive with meekness your engrafted word!' Feed me, nourish me, challenge me, convict me and lead me to a repentance that changes my life by the power of Your Word in me!' This prayer I ask In the Name of Yeshua, my Messiah!"

As you read, underline or highlight any verse where God is dealing with you or another person (see the 3 R's brochure). In as few words as briefly, write down on your bookmarks (or journal):

? This is how God is dealing with me... ? Prayer burdens He gave me... ? Before you stop, LISTEN!...

Also, write down a few names on each bookmark that you have a burden to pray for and pray briefly for each person, every time you open to that bookmark.

Each evening (see Shuvah calendar) as we count the 40 days of Messiah's wilderness journey. Take the cup and the matzah as an individual, or as a family, and pray the blessing over the bread and the wine as He taught us, when He said:

"Do this in remembrance of Me!"

"Teach us to number our days that we gain a heart of wisdom"

Psalm. 90:12

The Daniel Challenge

The Prophet Daniel Changed history in many ways. He is one of the great influencers of all time. His life changed the Kingdom of Nebuchadnezzar, the Media-Persian Empire, and the restoration of Israel, so that God's eternal plan for the second Temple would be ready for the coming Messiah! Who was Daniel and what made his life such a powerful influence? How can we get our lives in order to influence the world we live?

Daniel prayed three times a day!

"Now when Daniel learned that a written decree had been issued, he went into his house, where the windows in his upper room opened to Jerusalem. Three times a day, he knelt down, prayed and gave thanks before his God, just as he did before." Daniel 6:11

Daniel read the Word of God

He sought God's face for wisdom in the difficult days of the Babylonian captivity!

"In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of Median descent, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans, 2 in the first year of his reign--I, Daniel, understood from the books that according to the word of Adonai to Jeremiah the prophet, the number of the years for the fulfilling of the desolation of Jerusalem would be 70 years. 3 So I set my face to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes." Daniel 9:1-3

God's Word Leads to Prayer

4 "And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said, "O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments" Daniel 9:4

God's Word Brings Repentance

5 we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments." Daniel 9:4&5
