Our Mission – Glorifying God by making disciples
of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
THIS SUNDAY AT McKENDREE!
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES are regularly at 9am and 11am (on Fifth Sundays we have one combined worship service at 10am). Sunday will be the first week of our sermon series “Count Life All Joy!” By living in a world that is chaotic and confusing, if we are not careful, we can lose our joy for life. God calls us to celebrate in the midst of the chaos. This life is filled with uncertainty and uncontrollable situations, but life, the life that God gives us, is filled with the joy of the LORD! How do we reclaim our joy? Join us for a time of reclaiming and renewing the joy of the LORD that is already within us.
LIFE GROUP SIGN-UPS THIS SUNDAY!! Do you belong to a Life Group? McKendree Church has a variety of Life Groups for men, women, couples, mixed men and women, moms, and even for couponers. Some groups meet here at the church and others meet in various locations in Nashville and Brentwood. Some are morning groups, some meet in the evening, some at noon. Our groups are designed to be Missional, Discipling, Nurturing, and Accountable. Our new semester of Life Groups is starting soon! If you don’t belong to a Life Group, be sure to sign up Sunday! Sign-up sheets will be on the tables at the front and back entrances of the church. If you can’t make it on Sunday, but want to sign up for a Life Group, or if you’d like more information about our Life Groups, contact Ruth Baggett in the church office (615-271-2600 or mckendreeinfo@).
THE ENCOUNTER@EDGEHILL will meet this Sunday, September 4 at 6pm at Edgehill Café, 1201 Villa Place, Nashville, 37212. This is a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-generational, and multi-class movement and extension ministry of McKendree for the purpose of building bridges of hope through the love of Jesus Christ. Edgehill Café is the first of several locations planned for Nashville neighborhoods including MetroCenter, 12 South and Music Row.
OLD MOTHER HUBBARD WENT TO THE CUPBOARD – and found that there were no MEN’S CLOTHES IN THE CLOSET!!! We desperately need men’s clothing, especially in size large, extra-large and on up! SHOES, PANTS, PULLOVER SHIRTS, T-SHIRTS, UNDERWEAR AND SOCKS! Men, if you can’t part with some of your old clothes, you can go to Goodwill and buy some clean, used clothing and donate it.
