Description

Level 1 Grammar/Writing provides the beginning ELL literacy-level student with the skills to reproduce letters, words, numbers, and symbols; spell personal information, and sight words; complete a simple personal information form; demonstrate awareness of language patterns (subject/verb); utilize rules of grammar; and use survival language.

Target Population

According to NRS Beginning ELL Literacy definitions for grammar/writing, the individual has no or minimal reading or writing skills in any language. May have little or no comprehension of how print corresponds to spoken language and may have difficulty using a writing instrument.
