May 2020 bring you great health, prosperity, and love. Deale Elementary is among the best!It’s always nice to get external confirmation and affirmation of the things we believe. This past week, we received results from the ESSA Survey that showed Deale Elementary School with the highest overall score of all elementary schools in Anne Arundel County. This was a survey students, parents, and staff across our state completed last year. With our academic performance at or near the top quarter of all schools in our county, it’s fair to say that Deale Elementary School truly is among the best schools! I feel blessed to be a part of it.Pre-K Information Nights Scheduled “Prekindergarten Applications are accepted starting on February 5th, 2020. Submitting a prekindergarten application does not guarantee enrollment into the prekindergarten program. Students are accepted into the program based on Maryland State Department of Education criteria. Priority seating is given to those students that qualify to receive free or reduced meals following federal income guidelines. Applications are accepted at your designated prekindergarten home school. Transportation is provided to designated prekindergarten locations. Carrie Weedon Early Education Center: Only those families residing in the Tracey’s Elementary and Deale Elementary attendance areas as well as those families that reside in Maryland Manor, Wayson’s Corner, on Sands Road, and on Route 408.”Winter Closings / Emergency Contacts / and Emergency PlansAs we prepare to welcome Winter, it’s a great time of the year to review plans with your child. Do they know what the plan is should you be delayed getting home from work? Have the emergency contacts you listed at the beginning of the year changed and need to be updated? Will your child know where to go if school closes early and you’re not able to get home before they do? These are great conversations to have before the situations arises.
