We have had such a positive start to the 2012-2013 school year. Thank you so much for everything you have done to support your child as he/she has transitioned back to school.

Grandview is

Respectful,

Responsible, and

Ready.

We recognize that economic times are difficult for many of us right now and want to support your family as much as possible. We are fortunate to have a partnership with Monroe County’s Community Kitchen which can provide weekly backpacks filled with supplemental food items to families who are in need. If you would find this support helpful, please contact our school social worker, Jennifer Kamstra at 825-3009, ext 203.

Minds in Motion

On any given morning at Grandview, one can hear the sound of Kids Bop playing in the hallway. Students in grades K-2 start their mornings by engaging in Minds in Motion activities. These activities combine brain and body training. A unique blend of gymnastics and balance exercises, all focused on strengthening the brain’s ability to process and organize information efficiently. Minds in Motion gets us off to a SMART START!

New Report Cards

This year, MCCSC teachers will be using a new report card to report student progress to parents. This report card includes more detailed information about how students are doing in language arts and math. It is specifically designed to show each student’s growth in language arts and math skills. Other subjects will be reported with traditional grades.

There is a short video explaining the new report card. It is available at:

.

A link to this page is also available on the Grandview website grandview.mccsc.edu.

We will continue to provide information regarding this new reporting system.
