If you have a sewing machine at home that you love to use, then this is the club for you! Advanced sewing club will create several projects utilizing the sewing machine and hand sewing techniques. Advanced sewing will begin in November. ANIME CLUB --Advisor: Mr. Peck, A103, meetings TBD. Get together to enjoy the art of Japanese Anime. Members share teaching different techniques and styles. The Anime Club is open to any student from Lionville Middle School. For more information, please contact Mr. Peck. AEVIDUM CLUB- Advisor: Mrs. Swisher, A209, meetings TBD. The goal of the club is to create positive mental health environments where all students feel accepted, appreciated, acknowledged, and cared for in school and communities across the nation. Mrs. Danielsson & Mr. Guiley? You Be The Chemist is a national competition where students in 5th -8th grade compete in teams of 4 on their knowledge of Chemistry. There are 3 stages of competition: academic, video and national. Nationals are held in June in Houston, Tx. Meetings are held every Monday and Thursday 4-5 to prepare for the competition.CHALLENGE CLUB Advisor: Mrs. Kroboth, A235, meetings TBD. The Challenge club is an academic oriented club that prepares students for participation in the Chester County Knowledge Bowl. This is a fast paced, competitive, jeopardy like experience. If you are a whiz at remembering a broad range of knowledge and enjoy sharing that knowledge with others, this club is for you.CHESS CLUB --Advisor: Mr. Frederick, A101, starts in October meetings TBD usually twice monthly. Students will meet to play chess and learn more about the rules and strategies of PUTER GAME/PROGRAMMING - Advisor: Mr. Peyton, A205, Meetings begin in November times and dates TBD. Have you ever wanted to create your own video game? ?Students will create computer programs for games, interactive stories, and projects using Scratch software. It is open to all levels from beginners to expert.?Come join us and share in the enjoyment of computer programming. CREATIVE WRITING CLUB- Advisor: Ms. McDonald, A206; Meeting virtually Thursdays 3:30-4:30.The Creative Writing Club is a space for writers of all levels and abilities to come and share their love for writing. The Creative Writing Club will take you on a multi-unit journey where we unpack and practice with the various forms of creative writing. There are several opportunities to enter your work in contests for different modes of writing, and the chance to share your work with your peers will be an exciting and supportive experience!! DEBATE CLUB: Advisor: Ms. Michel. Meetings are first and third Tuesday of every month via Zoom at 3:30 pm. Debate Club is a space for students who love to research, collaborate, and respectfully debate the hot topics of today! Each month we meet to discuss different styles of debate and what topic we’d like to focus on for the month. Students get the chance to collaborate on a team and research their argument preparing for the debate. Then they get a chance to hone their skills of debate and speech in a fun respectful environment! DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS-Advisor: Ms. Ashleigh/Mr. Durkin, A126, meetings TBD.? During this club, students will participate in a role playing game designed for a group setting.? Players will create a unique character using the guideline provided by the game instructions and control that character in a fantasy world.? Guitar Club is a perfect opportunity for beginner and intermediate guitarists and bassists to play and improve their technique and knowledge of theory.? Mathcounts is a national mathematics program sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers and Raytheon. The purpose of this club is to motivate students to improve math skills through a nat’l program that incorporates enrichment, coaching, and competition. Students compete at the local, state, and national levels. MINDFULLNESS – Advisor: , A235, meetings Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding?environment, without judging or worrying about the past or thinking about the future. Lionville Middle School’s chapter of NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character and Citizenship. The student leaders of the origami club want to help you make connections with others and learn or master a new skill. Work and interact with Veterans from our area as well as guest speaker presentations. A trip to DC to lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is planned each Spring. READING OLYMPICS --Advisor: Ms. Backenstose, Mrs. Duffield, & Mrs. Depalma meeting dates TBD Reading Olympics encourages reading and discussion of books from a pre-approved list. Students will participate in the Reading Olympic Competition in the spring demonstrating their knowledge from the list of books.RUNNING CLUB- Advisor: Mrs. Schlegel, meet Mon., Tues., and Thurs. after school until 4:00. Students will run near the school for exercise and endurance.SCIENCE FAIR – Advisor: Miss. Elvin, B205, Meetings will be once a month until March.? Students create and present their own science experiment.? In the Spring the Science Fair gives them the opportunity to showcase their experiment and possibly win awards and move on to a higher level of competition. . Ski Club gives students of both grades the opportunity to learn or enhance their ability to ski and /or snowboard as well as meet and interact with other skiers/boarders. Ski trips are in Jan. & Feb. TV STUDIO --Advisor: Mr. Raines. B107, ON AIR every morning and once a week for REACH beginning dates TBD. Students are able to experience the working of a TV studio, everything from ON AIR to behind the cameras. Students will learn how to use the studio equipment and do announcements for the schoolTSA -Advisor: Ms. Parks Meetings on Tuesday 2:50-3:50, TSA is a club designed to help students get interested in technology and engineering topics through competition. Students will complete with other school through individual or group based competitions. Students will be required to do work at home for this club. YEARBOOK CLUB --Advisors: Mrs. Dziunycz & Mrs. Moyer meetings TBD Students will take and edit photographs for the LMS yearbook. They also work on lay-outs and editing of the publication. ................
