This would place his date of birth about 1770.According to the 1800 Rowan County, NC census, David Julian was born between 1756 and 1774. According to the 1830 Caldwell County, NC census, David Julian was born between 1771 and 1780.Based on my experience, ages at death given in obituaries, bibles, newspapers, death certificates, or on tombstones can often be inaccurate since they are second hand information. Based on the newspaper and the census records, we can estimate that David Julian was born between 1770 and 1774.The earliest record found for David Julian is his 1795 marriage bond to Elizabeth Merril. His bondsman was Hugh Horah.David Julian purchased a lot in Lexington in April, 1797 from Michael Beard then sold it to John Wright in June, 1797. Note that Dan Merrell and George Harmon were chain carriers for John Wright in 1799 in Randolph County, NC for an entry made in 1796. In June, 1797, David Julian purchased 176 acres on Fosters Branch in Rowan County from John Wright.
