"Gustar" ? Lesson Plan

Objectives/Goal ? To use Gustar to talk about things you like. ? To understand that when talking about things that people like, change the form of gustar to match the singular or plural nouns for those things.

Activities

? PowerPoint (15 minutes) -Students will have a pre-made note-taking sheet for them to take notes on the PowerPoint. -The PowerPoint will contain examples for students to observe different situations as well as practice examples. Students will be highly encouraged to write down answers to the practice questions. -There are two checkpoints for students to check on their own progress.

? Cube Game -Put skills into practice by completing an activity using cubes. The cubes will be handed out at random. -Students will put together their cube and they will roll their cube. Once they have rolled their cube they will be required to form a question using "gustar" to ask their partners. -Students will record their partner answers in a small sheet provided to them. This will be collected and graded. Each partner should obtain a total of six answers that they are to write down. -The other partner will do the same thing or they can rotate after one question as they wish. - Frey and Rico will demonstrate an example prior to them starting.

? Sr. Calles or Sra. Frey -This game has five things that Sra. Frey likes and five that Sr. Rico has. Students will volunteer as to who it is that likes the certain activity/thing by creating sentences using gustar such as " A Sra. Frey le gusta el perro" -Students must guess correctly and form a correct sentence in order for them to earn a piece of candy.
