CIRCLE OF FRIENDS RETURNS

[Pages:7]CIRCLE OF FRIENDS RETURNS

FIND OUT HOW YOU CAN HELP SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM

Circle of Friends is returning to North High School this year! For those new to North, Circle of Friends is similar to the Best Buddies program that students may have participated in previously (in middle school). Circle of Friends is a club for ALL students at NHS where we will work together to promote inclusion, understanding, empathy, and fun!

This year we will be meeting for several activities throughout the school year to spend time with our new friends while doing fun things like: yard games, movie nights, cooking activities, holiday parties, and hopefully attending some Husky sporting events! Members will be able to pair up with a differently abled friend and help each other participate in group activities. Our goal is to create a space where all students can come to make friends and be included in fun group activities.

Join Circle of Friends Today!

We are looking for students across ability levels to join our club! Students: click HERE or use the QR code below in order to become a Circle of Friends Friend!

Would you like to help support Circle of Friends? Our club's goal is to provide monthly after school activities for our Friends with a variety of needs from movie nights and game nights, to holiday parties and craft days. These activities require materials and supplies to help hold the event and provide refreshments where appropriate.

If you would like to support Circle of Friends, please reach out to Madeline Reilly (mreilly1@ecasd.us) or Janelle Patenaude (jpatenaude@ecasd.us). A wish list is provided (below) for anyone wishing to donate materials and supplies.

Monthly Needs: ? Bottled water, juice, or soda. ? Snacks such as pretzels, crackers, cookies, apples, bananas, cupcakes, granola bars, etc. ? Plates, silverware, cups, napkins, baby wipes (~1 pack per month).

One Time Needs: ? Simple Board games for 4+ players

(headbands, Uno, Sorry, Trouble, decks of cards, etc.). ? Craft supplies: Construction paper, glue sticks, large sets of washable markers and crayons, pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, "kid scissors," masking tape, washable poster paint, etc. ? Holiday cookie cutters (Halloween, Valentine's Day, winter holidays, etc.) ? Art smocks (This could be adult paint smocks, 3xl or larger button-down shirts, or aprons). ? Paper grocery bags (as many as people want to recycle).

Thank you for your support!

PICTURE DAY FUN AT NORTH

The East Gym was transformed Wednesday for this year's school picture day. As English classes came into the gym, student volunteers helped organize them and keep the process flowing smoothly. It was also fun to see the seniors' outfits as they tried to out-do the previous year's fun with picture day!
