• Cut down on copies being run. Run only those necessary

First Grade Plan for Paper Reduction

• Hands on centers- Directions are written on chart paper and hung up. Materials are found within the classroom for centers.

• Overhead transparencies-Document Camera These will be used for instruction rather than giving each child a copy.

• Cooperative learning- Students can work in groups/partners to practice skills.

• Use the board- Teacher will put material on board for students

• Use writing paper more often -Rather than make copies of lined paper, students will use handwriting paper.

• Laminate sheets / Small white board- and use Vis-a-Vis markers

• Use construction paper to make booklets, art projects, letter writing, etc. Things that are found on worksheets can be created on construction paper.

Fourth Grade Plan for Paper Reduction

• Assign amount per teacher per grade.

• Rotate document camera amongst those trained (need projector in order to be used)

• Select materials that could be use as overheads and saved for next year.

• Use page protectors for simple test

Fifth Grade Plan for Paper Reduction

• Use overhead sheets/document camera as much as possible instead of class sets of handouts.

• Check other team members to see if they have what you need.

• Share copies between the team (Non-consumables)

• Save copies for next year

ESE Plan for Paper Reduction

• Utilize EASYIEP to review student needs. Copies of IEP's will be limited to virtual counselor access for general education teacher, unless a case is sensitive.

Specials Plan for Paper Reduction

• Use one set and having them write on notebook paper or use the overhead and have students write answers on notebook paper

• Put assignment in a document protector and have them write on it with a Vis-a-Vis marker that can be erased and reused
