THE REMNANT

THE REMNANT

This is a brief article/study introduction on the subject of the remnant of Elohim’s people in the last days. Use this information for your further study on the subject of the ones who overcome—the ones who endure to the end—the ones who will survive and be alive when the Messiah of Israel comes.

He always brings a remnant out of destruction. If not, He would have destroyed all of His people long ago. But, He made an unconditional covenant with Abraham, which He reinforced with Isaac and Jacob and Jacob’s twelve sons and their descendants. For the sake of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, He has guarded His covenant and will guard it, and bring forth from the descendants of Jacob in our day—a remnant of all the twelve tribes—a remnant who will love Him, fear Him, obey Him, and be faithful to Him through tribulation, who will remain alive until the coming of the earthly Kingdom at Messiah’s return.

He has always spared a remnant, no matter how small. Noah and his family were a remnant of eight—that were delivered through the flood of judgment.

He delivered a remnant of the house of Israel--scattered into all nations, which now number in the billions. He delivered a remnant of the house of Judah from Babylon, which today number approximately twelve million. Out of this remnant of the whole house of Jacob—all the tribes—He will bring a small remnant, a very small remnant, through the tribulation days to come, to preserve His set-apart ones on this earth until His coming. (Matthew 24:21-25) He will resurrect the righteous remnant from the days of Seth (Adam’s righteous son) until now, in the resurrection of the justified—and these will enjoy His salvation and His Kingdom on earth forever.

He made no covenant with gentiles, but any of the gentiles (heathen, barbarians and pagans) who want to get in on the covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as always since Exodus 12, they can come in through faith and obedience to the Father, Yahuweh, and to Yahushua the Messiah. (Jeremiah 31:31-34) Therefore, He has a remnant from among the gentiles who will love Him and obey Him throughout eternity, by their faith in Messiah Yahushua.

The remnant from the time of righteous Seth--carried the righteous seed through the bloodline of Adam, through Noah, to Abraham and on and on. There has always been a remnant of the righteous, set-apart ones that Yahuweh has used to bring forth today a small but set-apart people unto Himself—whom Yahushua will marry as His beloved Bride at His coming.

This bride is “blameless” before the throne of Yahuweh. She has been marked and set-apart for preservation through the tribulation. (Ezekiel 9:4; Revelation 9:4; Deuteronomy 15:16-17; Revelation 3:12; Revelation 7:1-8; 12:17; 14:1-5, 14:12; Revelation 22:3-4, and 14, as examples)

Page 1

Right now, there is a remnant of people on earth who will resist the control of the world government, economic system and unified religion. Most of these will be martyred, or killed in some fashion for resisting the domination of the world rulers, and for refusing to worship the chief world ruler, who will rule from Jerusalem. (Revelation 13:13-18) These are believers in Messiah Yahushua, and also who guard the Torah (Instructions and teachings of Yahuweh)—as per Revelation 12:17, 14:12.

The word remnant simply means the ones left over—like a piece of cloth left over from a bolt of yards of cloth is called “a remnant” in the fabric stores.

In Exodus 26:12 we read: “And the overlapping part of the rest of the curtains of the Tent…shall hang over the back of the Dwelling Place”. (The Scriptures)

The King James Version uses the word “remnant”: “And the remnant that remains of the curtains of the Tent…”

The words in The Scriptures for “the overlapping part of the rest” is “remnant” – and is #5629 in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, Hebrew Dictionary, and means: “to extend exceedingly, to stretch out”. The stretching out of the curtains caused them to extend exceedingly over the back part of the Dwelling Place—the Tabernacle in the wilderness.

And indeed He is now stretching out and extending His remnant, His set-apart ones, in these last days, throughout all the earth to fulfill His purposes and His plans for the final things before Messiah Yahushua comes to establish His earthly Kingdom. This remnant is being stretched exceedingly. Those who are pliable, flexible, and easily managed—easily stretched by the Spirit of Yahuweh--will be used by Him mightily. Those who are rigid, stubborn, lazy, apathetic, fearful, and who “draw back” will be unusable. I see so many of His people, good people, drawing back—not in their beliefs, but because they do not want Him to take them from their comfort zone. It is hard on us when He stretches us exceedingly. But, if we will allow Him to do this, we will be mightily used in His Kingdom to come.

The remnant is set-apart: Leviticus 11:43-45; 19:1; 20:7-8, 24-26; Isaiah 8:13; I Peter 1:16. From these Scriptures we see that the set-apart ones are not defiled—they do not mix what is of the world and pagan religion of man’s creation with what is of Yahuweh and His set-apart Torah. Yahuweh is set apart, thus so are His remnant. This is why He spares them. The primary outward sign of set-apartness is the Scriptural guarding of His Shabbat (Friday night at sundown to Saturday night at sundown)—which is prophetic of the Kingdom of Messiah in the “seventh day” or 7-thousandth year since creation.

Hebrews 12:25-29: “Take heed not to refuse the One speaking. For if those did not escape who refused the warning on earth (Yahuweh’s warnings through Moses’ in the wilderness) much less we who turn away from Him from heaven,

Page 2

whose voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised saying, `Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also the heaven’. And this, `Yet once more, making clear the removal of what is shaken—as having been made—SO THAT THE UNSHAKEN THINGS MAY REMAIN. Therefore, receiving an unshakable Kingdom, let us hold the favor, through which we serve Elohim with reverence and awe, for indeed, our Elohim is a consuming fire”.

(Italics mine)

II Thessalonians 4:16-17: “Because the Master Himself shall come down from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the arch angel, and with the trumpet of Elohim, and the dead in Messiah shall rise first. Then we, who are ALIVE AND REMAIN, shall be caught away together with them in the clouds to meet the Master in the air—and so we shall always be with the Master”.

Zechariah 12:10: “And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and prayers. And they shall look upon Me, whom they pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son”.

There will be a remnant of Judah that will receive Messiah as Savior at His coming. The southern Kingdom was mainly comprised of Judah (Jews) and Levi (the priesthood), and a few from the tribe of Benjamin, who lived just north of Jerusalem. Yahuweh is restoring now, a remnant of Judah and of the northern ten tribes of Israel—the house of Ephraim/Joseph, to the Land. Judah comes back first as per Zechariah 12:7, and then the whole house joins Judah (Zechariah 8:20-23). The major focus of the Father now is the return of a remnant, representing the whole house of Israel (Jacob) to the Land before Messiah comes. At Messiah’s coming the whole remnant, past and present, will go with Messiah into His Kingdom—most rising in the first resurrection, but also those alive and remaining, rising to meet Him as He returns. As He puts His foot on the Mount of Olives, ALL THE SET-APART ONES will be with Him. (Zechariah 14:1-5; Jude 1:14-15; Revelation 20:6; John 5:24-29; Daniel 12:1-3; I Corinthians 15:51-58; Revelation 11:15-19; Philippians 3:20-21; Acts 1:9-11; Isaiah 26:19; plus over 200 other passages regarding His return throughout the Bible)

The gathering of His people into ONE Kingdom once again is the primary focus and theme of the whole Bible. Ezekiel 37 and many passages like it, tell us that He is focused on the returning and redemption of a remnant of the whole house of Jacob—restoring the two separate kingdoms of Judah and Israel in Messiah.

Israel was scattered into all nations of the earth between about 950BCE to their final scattering in 722BCE. Judah was scattered at different times, from 586BCE, 70CE and finally from 132CE. Yahuweh is bringing back a remnant now to their inheritance land. This is considered the greatest exodus of all time--out of all nations—greater than the exodus of Exodus 12-14 (Jeremiah 16:14-16), and it will occur very soon.

Page 3

The greatest punishment Yahuweh could give His people was to drive them from their inheritance land. In the following Scriptures, see the terms “that day”, “in that day”, the “day of Yahuweh”, “in that day and at that time”, “in the latter years”, “in the latter days”—these all refer to our day—the day of the coming of Messiah.

For several years now, the Father has sent me into many nations at different times to intercede before Him for the remnant in those nations—to call forth the protection of that remnant, and for their strengthening and perfecting, so that they will be mighty in Him. We see a picture of this remnant in Revelation 7:1-8 and 14:1-5. He is calling many now to intercede before Him on behalf of those few remaining ones that He will use mightily in the coming days.

This group, known as His end-time remnant, includes: 1) The marked Bridal remnant. 2) The Jewish remnant, who will be preserved in Jerusalem and/or Edom, who will receive their Messiah at His coming. 3) A remnant of many who will survive the coming world holocaust and be taken as survivors to Edom (Southern Jordan) to the place of refuge, mentioned second only to Jerusalem in these last days. Some will be believers, some will be wicked, some will become believers in Messiah as a result of the true believers witness.

I look out over the Red Sea and the Port of Aqaba, realizing that hundreds of thousands of refugees will be coming from all over the world in the days ahead. (If you do not have the article: “Important Instructions Regarding the Re-gathering and the Preservation of the Tribes of Jacob”, please ask for it, regarding the preserving of a remnant in the land of Edom/Petra/Mt. Seir/Sela).

Since everyone who does not receive the “mark of the beast” system—economic mark—will be killed, the surviving remnant that flees to Edom will be very small. Yet, within this remnant are many believers whom He will protect during the 3 ½ years of tribulation. The Bridal remnant on the other hand, will be very mobile, and will be moving supernaturally throughout the earth to do His work, until the very end, when the wrath of the Father is poured out on the wicked. This remnant will do exploits by His power (Daniel 11:32).

Isaiah 1:9: “Unless Yahuweh of hosts had left to us a small remnant, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been made like Gomorrah.”

Isaiah 10:20-23: “And in that day, it shall be that the remnant of Israel and those who have escaped of the house of Jacob, never again lean upon him who defeated them, but shall lean upon Yahuweh, the Set-Apart One of Israel in truth. A remnant shall return, the remnant of Jacob to the Mighty El. For

though Your people O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return—a decisive end, overflowing with righteousness. For the Master Yahuweh of hosts is making a complete end, as decided, in the midst of all the earth.”

Page 4

Isaiah 11:11-12: “And it shall be in that day that Yahuweh sets His hand again a second time to recover the remnant of His people who are left…and He shall raise a banner for the nations, and gather the outcasts of Israel, and assemble the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth”.

Isaiah 28:5-6: “In that day, Yahuweh of hosts is for a crown of splendor and a head-dress of comeliness to the remnant of His people, and a spirit of right-ruling to him who sits in right-ruling, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate”.

NOTE: Isaiah 28:5-6 and Amos 5:15 and 6:3-7 have been main passage of Scripture for eight years, for intercession over the Port of Aqaba. Through this Port—called by the international the “Peace Port”, will come hundreds of thousands of His people of the house of Israel and the house of Judah fleeing out from the nations—a remnant that He is bringing to Edom for preservation. The house of Joseph/Israel/Ephraim--the ten northern tribes, called “the lost sheep of the house of Israel” were scattered into all nations because of their idolatry against Yahuweh. The word for “strength” in Hebrew is “Geber”. It is part of the ancient name of Aqaba, which is mentioned in Deuteronomy 2:8 and I Kings 9:26-28—“Ezion Geber” means: “The backbone of the mighty warrior”. In Hebrew the word “gate” means “seaport, land border, gate or door”. Yahuweh has those interceding for this remnant of the house of Israel, returning after 2,700 years of captivity back to Him. Amos 5:15 and 6:3-7 speak of interceding for the house of Joseph—setting up “right ruling in the gate”. The “right rulings” are His Torah—the Teachings and Instructions of the Kingdom of Heaven. There will be a great battle at this gate of Aqaba/Eilat—and we must pray for the protection of the remnant of His people who will flee out of all nations.

Isaiah 37:31-32, 35: “And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward. For out of Jerusalem comes forth a remnant, and those who escape from Mount Zion—the zeal of Yahuweh of hosts does this...and I shall defend this city (Jerusalem) to save it for My own sake and for the sake of My servant David.” (Italics mine)

Jeremiah 23:3, 6-8: “Therefore, I shall gather the remnant of My flock out of all the lands where I have driven them, and shall bring them back to their fold…In His days Judah shall be saved and Israel dwell safely. And this is His

Name whereby He shall be called: Yahuweh our Righteousness… `Therefore,

see, the days are coming’ declares Yahuweh `when they shall say no more “As Yahuweh lives who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt”, `but as Yahuweh lives who brought up and led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north, and from all the lands where I had driven them, and they

shall dwell on their own soil’”.

Jeremiah 31:1, 7-8: “`At that time’, declares Yahuweh, `I shall be the Elohim of all the clans of Israel, and they shall be My people’. Thus says Yahuweh, `A

Page 5

people escaped from the sword found favor in the wilderness, Israel, when it went to find rest’…For thus says Yahuweh, `Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations. Cry out, give praise, and say, `O Yahuweh, save Your people, the remnant of Israel’. See, I am bringing them from the land of the north, and shall gather them from the end of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, those with child and those in labor, together, a great assembly returning here” (Jerusalem).

Jeremiah 50:4-5, 20: “`In those days and at that time’, declares Yahuweh, `the children of Israel shall come, they, and the children of Judah TOGETHER, weeping as they come and seek Yahuweh their Elohim. They shall ask the way to Zion, their faces toward it. `Come let us join ourselves to Yahuweh in an everlasting covenant, never to be forgotten’…`In those days and at that time’ declares Yahuweh, `the crookedness of Israel shall be searched for, but there shall be none; and the sin of Judah but none shall be found. For I will pardon those whom I leave as a remnant’”.

Joel 2:32: “And everyone who calls on the name of Yahuweh shall be delivered. From Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be an escape, as Yahuweh has said, and among the remnant of survivors whom Yahuweh calls”.

Amos 5:15: “Hate evil and love good, and set up right ruling in the gate. It might be that Yahuweh Elohim of hosts shows favor to the remnant of Joseph”. (This is a call for intercession for the return of the remnant of the house

of Joseph—the ten tribes of Jacob).

Micah 2:12: “I shall certainly gather all of you, O Jacob. I will bring together the remnant of Israel, put them together like sheep of the fold, like a flock in the midst of their pasture, they being noisy because of men. The breach-maker (“the Breaker”—“the way-maker”—a picture of Messiah) shall go up before them. They shall break out, and pass through the gate, and go out by it, and their sovereign pass before them, with Yahuweh at their head!” (Italics mine)

Micah 4:6-7: “`In that day’, declares Yahuweh, `I gather the lame, and I bring together the outcast of those whom I have afflicted. And I shall make the lame a remnant and the outcast a strong nation. And Yahuweh shall reign over them in Mount Zion, from now on and forever.”

Micah 7:18-19: “Who is an El like You—taking away crookedness and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance? He shall not retain His wrath forever, for He Himself delights I kindness. He shall turn back. He shall have compassion on us. He shall trample upon our crookedness! And You throw all our sins into the depths of the sea!”

Zephaniah 3:13-15, 19-20: “The remnant of Israel shall do no unrighteousness

and speak no falsehood, nor is a tongue of deceit found in their mouth, for they shall feed their flocks and lie down with none to frighten them. Shout for joy, O daughter of Zion! Shout O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem! Yahuweh has turned aside your judgments.

Page 6

He has faced your enemy. The Sovereign of Israel, Yahuweh, is in your midst. No longer need you fear evil…I am dealing with all those afflicting you at that time. `And I shall save the lame, and gather those who were cast out. And I shall give them for a praise and for a name in all the earth where they were put to shame. At that time, I shall bring you in, even at the time I gather you, for I shall give you for a name, and for a praise, among all the people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes’, declares Yahuweh.

Zechariah 8:6-8: “Thus says Yahuweh of hosts, `If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should is also be marvelous in My eyes?’ declares Yahuweh of hosts. Thus says Yahuweh of hosts, `See I am saving My people from the land of the sunrise and from the land of the sunset. And I shall bring them back, and they shall dwell I the midst of Jerusalem. And they shall be My people, and I shall be their Elohim, in truth and in righteousness’”.

Ezra 9:7-8: “Since the days of our fathers to this day, we have been very guilty and for our crookedness we, our sovereigns, and our priests have been given into the hand of the sovereigns of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to plunder, and to shame of face, as it is this day. But now, for a short while, favor has been shown from Yahuweh our Elohm, to leave us a remnant, and to give us a peg in His set-apart place, that our Elohim might enlighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage”. Indeed the remnant is a blessing!

Romans 11:1-2a, 5: “I say then, has Elohim rejected His people? Let it not be! –

For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. Elohim has not rejected His people whom He knew beforehand…So, therefore also, at this present time, a remnant according to the choice of grace has come to be”.

The Apostle Paul is talking about those of the house of Judah and the house of

Israel who have come to faith in Messiah Yahushua. Today, a very small remnant believe and act according to the teachings left to us by Messiah Yahushua and spread by His Apostles—the teachings of Nazarene Israel—the Torah-observant followers of the Messiah of Israel--Yahushua.

Revelation 12:17: “And the dragon was enraged with the woman (Israel) and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed—those guarding the commandments of Elohim and possessing the witness of Messiah Yahushua.”

Revelation 14:12: “Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of Elohim and the faith of Yahushua.”

Revelation 22:14: “Blessed are those doing His commandments so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the City”.

Throughout the Word, the remnant can be seen coming out of destruction and judgment--overcoming and victorious. These are those who know Him, and

Page 7

thus are hidden in Him. These are those who have paid the price to remain faithful to Him. These are the ones whose faith has been tried and tested in the fire, and have come out as pure gold. He saves a remnant in order to continue the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, for the sake of the eternal covenant that He made with this family. Through the ages, the remnant of this family who remained faithful to Yahuweh and Yahushua has sometimes gotten down to a handful—as with Noah and his family. But, today, this remnant, though still small, is larger and more powerful than any group of His people ever on the earth. They are ready to go through whatever is necessary in order to be found worthy and faithful and obedient servants at the coming of Messiah Yahushua.

Here are the meanings of “remnant” in Hebrew and Greek.

From James Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible Hebrew Dictionary:

As with Isaiah 10:20-22, 11:11; Ezra 9:8--#7605: “remnant” means: “a remainder, a residue”.

As with Jeremiah 23:3, 31:7; Amos 5:15; Zechariah 9:6, 12; Micah 4:7; 5:7-8; 7:18: #7611, “remnant” means: “a remainder, residue, survivor, a final portion that has escaped, to be left, to remain, remnant, the rest”.

From Ezekiel 14:22 is #6413: “an escaped portion—a delivered remnant”

Joel 2:32: is #8300, which means: “a survivor—alive, left remaining, escaped ones”

Greek Dictionary:

Romans 11:5: #3005: “a remainder, to leave, leftovers

Revelation 12:17: #3062: “remaining ones, a remnant, residue, the est.

There is much more to this subject, because there are characteristics that distinguish the remnant from all the other people on the earth.

The Bridal remnant is as pure gold, tried in fire—the dross being skimmed off

until there is none left. The pure gold is the remnant of purity and set-apartness to the Bridegroom, Yahushua. The Bride submits herself to this refining process.

Her characteristics are found in many places, for example in Revelation 14:1-5—she is blameless before Him, and she follows the Lamb wherever He goes.

She has a bride’s heart of love, which causes her to be different than any other group of people on the face of the earth. She comes from all the tribes of Jacob (Revelation 7:1-8). She is “virgin”—pure, undefiled. (II Corinthians 11:2) She is not entangled with “women”—which means that she is not involved in the whore system of Revelation 17. The “whore system” of “mystery Babylon” is the pagan religious system of man, that has its roots in Nimrod (Genesis 10 and 11), —sun god worship carried forth in its many forms—the sun god and his Queen of heaven. She is not involved in man’s religion, for she knows the Father and the Bridegroom, and won’t touch what is not acceptable to Them. She learns

Page 8

the Word from the Author—the Teacher—the Spirit of Yahuweh. She is led by Him, directed by Him, taught by Him, and prepared by Him for the Bridegroom.

He has marked her with His name in her forehead, but also has marked her with the “marriage license”, as per Revelation 3:12—with His family name—Yahuweh--and the name of His residency—the new Jerusalem—and signed by the name of the Bridegroom, Yahushua.

She has left all to be with Him, and has prepared herself for her life in His presence forever. Only the Bridal company lives in the City of the New Jerusalem around the throne of Yahuweh and Yahushua—she never leaves the side of her Bridegroom. (Psalm 45:6-15; Revelation 3:12; 22:3-5; 14)

The surviving remnant that won’t take the mark of the beast will be tiny. (Revelation 13 and 14) There will be multi-millions of martyrs who will not deny their faith. There will be billions dead from many things—war, nuclear, chemicals, biological warfare, disease, beasts of the earth, famine, lack of clean water, and radiation fall out, and cosmic bombardment that will effect the earth.

I present this study on His remnant so that you might pray and intercede for the protection of this remnant as they will have to flee to safety, led by Him. The remnant of Judah and North Israel will be coming into Edom, southern Jordan for protection—and some of Judah will remain in the underground tunnels of Jerusalem—but few. There will be 2/3 who will die of the now 7 million in the nation of Israel, but 1/3 will escape to the area of refuge—Edom.

Also, it is believed that 2/3 will die worldwide, but I think there will be more than that. Of those that remain, Messiah says that 50% will be taken (that means the destruction of the wicked) and 50% will remain. (Proverbs 2:21-22 and Matthew 13, combat the lie that the righteous are taken and the wicked left).

The righteous are never taken off of the earth. Our eternal life is in the Land of

Israel—our land inheritance is there. The first 1,000 years will be under Messiah’s rule, and then for eternity we will live under Yahuweh’s rule, as His Kingdom comes to earth (Isaiah 66:22-23; Revelation chapters 19-22 and I Corinthians 15:23-28).

The plans of the Luciferic world community leaders—the world’s elite rulers—plan to get the earth’s population down to about 500 million slaves who will serve their purposes. But, He will have His set-apart remnant.

But, those who stand with Yahuweh and remain alive are the ones that we must pray for, as well as the remnant of Judah who will receive salvation as they see Him with the nail scars in His wrists and feet—and who will mourn greatly for Him, because they did not receive Him the first time. Pray that those who are to receive salvation among the Jews (Judah) will stay alive and remain so that they can be born again at His coming. The enemy is going to try to kill off all the Jews, and the Torah-observant believers during the tribulation time—but we must intercede daily for the protection of His remnant who is now born-again

Page 9

and walking in obedience to Him, as well as those who will be born-again when they behold Him coming in the clouds. Pray for the eyes of the house of Judah to be opened to Messiah Yahushua now. Pray for the eyes of the house of Israel to be opened to the Covenant and their responsibility to guarding His Kingdom instructions and teachings, Torah, now—His Shabbats, His Festivals, His dietary rules, and His Ten Commandments—the lifestyle of His Kingdom.

Pray for the Bridal remnant that will do “exploits” (Daniel 11:32) throughout the earth until the time of wrath, when they will be protected in Edom for a festival cycle—approximately one year. Pray for the surviving remnant of His people who will live through the 3 ½-year tribulation protected in Edom also.

Pray for those who will be martyred that they will stand strong and not deny Him. Pray for the literal millions of martyrs that are dying now for their faith in places like China, Indonesia, African nations, south Asian nation, Mexico, Peru, and other Central and South American nations. Pray for those in the persecuted assembly of Yahushua in about 40 countries today—in prison, facing torture and death. It is estimated that one dies every 9 minutes for his faith in Messiah.

In having mercy to pray for others, He will extend mercy to you. The extermination of true believers and Jews in America is close.

Love, blessings, joy and Shalom,

Yedidah
