Mary D. Lang Kindergarten Center

Hello Kindergarten Friends, Today is music and we are going to explore how music can tell a story without using any words. I would like you to listen to two pieces of music that was written about the season of "Spring". The first selection is by the composer Antonio Vivaldi and was written in the year 1716 and the second by the composer Astor Piazolla in 1970. One is written in the traditional classical style and the second is a tango. Without using any words the composers and two different styles of music you may make you think of flowers blooming, birds chirping, or animals coming out after a long winter to play. When you listen to the songs use your imagination for what you think the music is saying and draw a picture of what you hear and write one word to describe what you draw. If you want to share your work with me you and your parents can email it to me at: emata@ Have fun using your imagination and enjoy listening to two wonderful pieces of music!
