That is a fact of life that must be dealt with in a mature and realistic manner. The following procedure will provide a consistent and orderly method of selection of teams. All participants must abide by the rules of the program and be eligible by school standards. There are no guarantees that all participants will be able to suit up or play in gamesA try-out period will be held for evaluation of prospective team members. Any absence by a player during the try-out period must be excused. The coach must be notified personally. At the end of the tryout period, the coaching staff will select the team. If a player is found to have conducted herself in a manner detrimental to the team on or off the court there will be consequences for her actions. Your family and academics are your top priorities, then basketball, never do anything to embarrass yourself or Grandview.Any violation of Grandview or CHSAA rules can be grounds for dismissal from the team.Practice ExpectationsAcademicsGrades are checked via Power school. The only time the jersey should hit the floor is if the player is in it! The only person who should wear the jersey is the player We typically do not take busses to contests. In the event we take a bus, players will ride the bus to and from games. If teams are taking a 2 way bus trip then everyone will ride the bus. The only exception would be for medical emergencies. We will attempt to have parents drive whenever possible. When needed we will schedule buses and determine if we need a one way or two way bus. Players are not to drive themselves to games with the exception of GHS, SHHS, CTHS, EHS.During games players are expected to be attentive to the game. They should also conduct themselves in a manner that exemplifies what being a student athlete at Grandview should be. We will respect the coaches, officials, fans and opponents.
