St. Johns Church is the founding church of Cullman and a church with strong Reformation Protestant roots. We began as a German-speaking congregation but, through God’s grace and guidance, have become a community church with people from all religious backgrounds and traditions.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to the family of Mr. Fuller Smith, Sr. father of Fuller (Jan) Smith.

Graveside services were held last week at Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery last week.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to the family of Mr. Howard “Buddy” Baker father of Kelley (Connie)

Baker. Funeral services were held last week at New Prospect Baptist Church.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs. Nell Kirby mother of Hope Kirby. Funeral services were held at First United Methodist Church on June 1, 2012. Mrs. Kirby served faithfully for 20 years as organist at St. John’s from Sept. 6, 1970 to March 4, 1990.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to the family of Mr. Standford Masters father of Ellis (Kim) Masters .

Memorial services were held on Friday June 8, 2012 at Highlands Methodist Church in Birmingham.

IMMERSION BAPTISM

We rejoiced in the Sacrament of Christian Baptism on Sunday May 27, 2012 as nine members of our Church were Baptized by Pastor Bob Kurtz. Those being received by Immersion were: Carson Hill, J.V. Shelton, Forrest Jackson, Kim Jackson, Trevor Richards, Ashleigh Drake, Janet Holt, Tammy Griffith, and Kaci Griffith.

Great heroic stories of faith that help us to see who God really is and inspire us to live the extraordinary lives God is calling us to. Following each lesson, we will take the church but to Dairy Queen for some cool treats… so bring some cash with you!
