He has a long history in education and coaching on all levels, including at Fayetteville State University (for 17 years). Currently, he is involved in a non-profit that works with student called Communities in Schools.Heath previously lived in the Fayetteville area with his ex-wife, Patricia, through the mid-1990s. The two were wed in 1983 and separated in 1992. Their divorce was finalized in August 1994. During this time, Heath was the subject of dozens of worthless check cases in Cumberland, Hoke, and Robeson Counties. While many were adjudicated as misdemeanors in the mid-1990s, records show that many were not disposed or dismissed until June 2019. At the same time, he was cited on several occasions for driving on a revoked license, without insurance, on expired registration, or expired inspection. In addition to these, he was cited for threatening communications in Wayne County in 1985. The case did not move forward, but it was not dismissed until January 2019. Despite not showing any major issues tied to his properties in Robeson County, it appears that he defaulted on a line or credit (or similar loan) through the State Employees’ Credit Union in the mid-1990s. This resulted in a default judgment totaling more than $7,500 (with attorney’s fees). Some recent records are pending retrieval in Robeson County and will be included in a supplemental memo.As a candidate, Heath reportedly raised more than $10,000 through February 15, 2020, including $7,800 from people who identified themselves as unemployed. Outside of $240 in contributions to his own committee, he has not given to any state or federal candidates or committees. Background and BiographyIdentifying InformationName:Timothy Renard HeathDOB:February 23, 1954Address:408 McGoogan StreetRed Springs, NC 28377Family:Eva Mae Patterson-Heath. Four adult children.Former wife: Patricia HeathBiographyThe following biography was taken from Heath’s campaign website:Tim Heath was born on February 23, 1954 in Winston Salem N.C. and is the oldest of Willie Mae Brown’s five children. When he was nine years old his family moved to Fort Bragg N.C. His stepfather Frank J. Brown served in the army and retired after over 30 years of service. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Having been raised as a military brat, Tim and his siblings were brought up in a very disciplined environment. He attributes this type of culture to shaping and training him to become the adult he is today. The values that were taught, allowed him to become the teacher, coach, veteran, mentor, and strong family-oriented person he is known for in the community.Tim graduated from Seventy First High School in 1972 and attended Fayetteville State University on a football scholarship. After graduating from college in 1976, he entered the teaching and coaching profession. With over 40 years of serving youth and families in schools and in the community, Tim has had the opportunity to hold leadership positions and impact people from all walks of life.Overtime, Tim has received numerous awards and positions of authority. Being recognized as a strong leader at an early age has contributed to making him a positive influence in society throughout his adulthood. Tim reached All American status as a college football player after my senior year at FSU. He was inducted into the FSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002. Notably, Tim was hired at his alma mater as the first Director of Intramural Sports and Campus Recreation, and served as an Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Education. After serving 17 years, Tim retired from this position in 2016.
