HKU Admissions and Academic Liaison Section
The “Entrance Scholarship for International Students” is established with the generous donation of various donors. Some of these entrance scholarships, for the top ranking students, renewable per academic year subject to academic requirements, which is sufficient to cover the tuition fee, university accommodation, and some personal living expenses.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
• Applicants must need a student visa to study at the University
• Applicants should have the major part of secondary education received outside Hong Kong
• Applicants must have submitted a complete application (including the payment of application fee) for undergraduate admission in September 2011 to the University of Hong Kong (hereinafter refer as “HKU”) through the International Admission Scheme
• Selection for awards is based on academic and non-academic achievement of the applicants
Submission of Application and Closing Date
• Completed scholarship application should be submitted by mail or in person to the Global Lounge, Fong Shu Chuen Amenities Centre, The University of Hong Kong, Pokfulam Road, Hong Kong
(Office hours: Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. & 2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.)
• Closing date is December 30, 2010
Selection and Announcement of Results
• Applicants may be required to submit additional information and conduct face-to-face or telephone interview
• Results will be announced together with the admission result from February 2011 onwards via email and mail
• Awards will only be confirmed when selected candidates are offered admission to undertake undergraduate study at HKU in September 2011
• The award is renewable for a further 2 or more years to cover the study period of the first degree on the basis of academic results obtained at HKU
