A few minor modifications have been made to accommodate the tournament format. 1. Games’ Length6 innings* - 8 runs lead after 3 1/2 innings (home team ahead) or 4 innings ( visitors ahead) will constitute a game.If tied, the international tie breaker will be played. If still tied after one inning, the game becomes a tie. Two points for wins, one point for ties.If tied after round-robin play the tie-breaker is as follows:-head to head-least runs scored against-run differential 2. Designated Hitter for the pitcher only3. Re-Entry RulePlayers can be substituted for, and re-enter into the same lineup spot, only. The player who entered the game for them, must be in play for one at-bat, and in the field for six outs.A courtesy runner for the catcher is permissible, after two outs. The runner must not be in the lineup.A pitcher cannot re-enter the game as a pitcher in the same game.4. Only wood and composite bats are permissible.5. All players, to participate in the game, must be listed on the lineup card. A total of 20 players may listed on the lineup card.6. Coaches are encouraged to wear a baseball helmet of some type (it will be mandatory in 2018).7. Players are to slide to the bag and avoid contact as much as possible. Umpires, can issue warnings, call players out, or eject players, if the feel players are in violation of this rule. 8. Throwing gear, obscene gestures, profanity, or disrespecting officials or opponents can lead to ejection. Players ejected, can also be ejected for the next game as well. Coaches ejected can only be ejected for one game. 9. Batters are to keep one foot in the box, when taking signals or between plays. The only time a hitter can leave the batter's box is after a foul ball, or an equipment failure.10. Pitch Counts are as follows:1 - 40 - no rest required41 - 55 - 1 day56 - 70 - 2 days71 - 85 - 3 days86 - 105 - 4 daysA maximum of 105 pitches can be thrown in one outing. If a pitcher starts a batter, below a number, regarding the days of rest, and the at-bat goes beyond the number, the total will revert back to the number at the start of the at-bat. However, the pitcher must be substituted for, to keep the lower number. If a pitcher continues, he will move into the next category. The pitcher may move to another position, but he cannot come back into the game as a pitcher.*all medal games will be 5 innings*Teams are to not use the hitting tunnels while games are in progress…unless they are using whiffle balls. ?*Teams may take an infield/outfield if time allows. ? ................
