How to clean out your Internet BrowsersYour internet browser's cache stores certain information about webpages you visit. Browser information includes:Temporary Internet filesCookiesA history of the websites you've visitedInformation that you've entered into websites or the Address bar, such as your name, address, and the website addresses that you've visited before.Saved web passwordsTemporary information stored by browser add-onsYou should periodically (best practice recommends after daily internet activity) clear your browsers cache to allow your browser to function more efficiently. Note: your browser will be disconnected from websites requiring a login and password. Sites like Information Assurance Training require browser cookies to maintain your place if you do not complete training in one sitting, so complete your training and print certificates before cleaning your browsers.Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0, 9.0, and 10.0Open?Internet Explorer.Click?Tools?in the left menu bar?(if opened)?or click on the?Gear?icon in the right toolbar.Click?Internet Options?and choose the?General?tab.Click the?Delete...?button?under the "Browsing History" section.Make sure you?uncheck?"Preserve Favorites Website Data" at the top of this window.Make sure you?check all options?below "Preserve Favorites Website Data".Click the?Delete?button.?-?Deleting files could take a while if you have a lot of files and history.Click?OK?to close window.Mozilla Firefox If your menu bar is hidden and if you're using Windows 7, you now have an orange Firefox button that takes the most common functions and puts them in one menu.
