In the previous exercise, we completed the first step to post a new job in PeopleSoft by completing the Job Details section.
In the previous exercise, we saved out work as a draft. This exercise will start as we access that draft copy that we saved. You would follow these steps if you had been interrupted and now return to your work.

We've now arrived back to the posting we started previously, and can continue on to the next process, creating the job posting.
The links for each process are at the top and bottom of the screen. We've scrolled to the bottom to view the links there.
Now you are ready to create the job posting, which is the job description that the applicant will see.

This is the page where you will write the job posting that the applicant will see.
Each row is called a posting description.
In the first three descriptions, you will choose a selection from the Description ID field.
Click the Magnifying Glass to view a list of the Colleges / Divisions

In this example, select "N/A."

Notice that "N/A" is now listed in the description field for the first description.
Repeat the procedure for the second description, the Scope of Search.

For this position click in the text field and enter 33,000/year
Then click Enter to continue.
For the rest of the descriptions, you will type in the "Description field".
In this description, type in the Rate of Pay. You can use "DOE" (Depending on experience), you can put in a range, you can list as an hourly wage or as an annual wage. Any format is accepted.
For this example, type in "33,000/year"

Click on the Description field to signify typing the essential functions there.
Essential functions refer to those things that the applicant must be able to do in order to do the job. They will not be viewed by applicants, but are intended to be viewed internally.
For the purposes of this exercise we are just clicking into these last few fields to bring information into view.
Naturally you would either key in your own verbiage or copy and paste it from a Word document into PeopleSoft.

Click in the Description field to signify typing in Duties and Responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities are actual duties, such as deliver mail, order supplies, coordinate requisitions, etc. This description must conform to the letter of the law, and must start with a verb or action word.
Generic job descriptions do not have a verb at the beginning. Human Resources can help you develop a correctly formatted description of Duties and Responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications come from the description in the position number. As such, it is un editable here.

Type in your Desired Qualifications.
Remember that you will need to evaluate each of your applicants against this entire list.
The applicants will see the list of qualifications, and HR will copy the desired quals to another part of the program for use in evaluating the applicants.

Click in the Description field and enter the Close Date of August 25, 2008. Then select Enter to continue.
For the purposes of this exercise we are entering August 25, 2008. The closing date must be at least five business days after posting. It must also be written out fully as in the above sentence. Do not abbreviate as 08/25/08.

The Instructions to Apply are pre-populated, but are editable.
You can edit the instructions to fit your situation. In your instructions it is important that the applicant attach any information (like a Resume, Cover letter, Letters of Reference, Writing Sample) as ONE ATTACHMENT.
