American Revolution Project Choices

This is a project worth 100 POINTS, so make sure you choose a project that you can do well on and be proud of. I have offered three selections so that there will be something that appeals to everyone. These are just the descriptions of the projects; you will receive a detailed rubric that you must follow once you decide which one you want to do. Choose carefully, once you have turned in what project you are doing, you will not be allowed to change. Show your options to your parents and discuss it with them. They must sign off on what project you decide to do.

1. American Revolution Power Point Project

Create a power point presentation. Your presentation will include various aspects of the American Revolution. You will have a total of 12 slides with an original script to accompany each slide. The categories you must include are: 3 Important People (1 Loyalist/British, 1 Patriot/American, 1 female), 3 Battles, 3 Events Leading to the Revolution, and 3 Interesting/Unusual/Fun Facts. The slides and script must be organized in either a chronological or topical fashion. You will need to include the sources you used for your project . You must have at least 5 sources.

2. American Revolution Trading Cards

Many people collect and trade baseball, football and other sports cards. You will create a collection of Revolutionary era trading cards. You should have a total of 5 cards—2 British/Loyalist, 2 Americans/Patriots, and 1 woman.

You will fill out a brief biographical information sheet as you research each person. Then you will incorporate important facts from the information sheet to create the back of your trading card. You will make your trading cards in “baseball card” style with a picture on the front and the written info on the back. You will also be required to turn in your research sheets. You must also include a list of the sources that you used for your research. You must use at least 5 sources.

3. American Revolution Board Game

You will design a kid friendly, colorful, and interactive board game based on events leading up to the American Revolution or on the battles of the Revolution. You have creative freedom in creating the type of game as well as the name of it, the game pieces, and how it is played. You will need to have a game board, game pieces, questions and answers, and rules. People must be able to play this game without you having to explain it in great detail. (examples—Candyland, Monopoly, Clue, Trivial Pursuit) The questions you use in your game should be upper level questions related to the Revolutionary era. You must also include a list of the sources that you used for your research. You must use at least 5 sources.

American Revolution Project Choices

This project is due Monday, December 9. I have chosen to complete project #_________ and agree to turn in a finished project on the due date. I know that I must complete the project I have chosen and may not do another one once I turn in this form. If I do not turn this project in on the due date, I will lose 10 points each day it is late. Also, I know that if I never turn this project in, it will result in a ZERO. This form needs to be signed by my parent and me and returned by, November 20. I am fully aware of my responsibilities for this project.
