Welcome to Powerschool for Parents

1. Log onto the internet.

2. Type in the address and this will take you directly to the login page.

You can also log onto (This is the district webpage.) There is a link Powerschool for Parents on the right hand side of the page (toward the bottom) that will also take you to the login page.

3. Your username is the first code on the strip that you received in the mail. Type this code in the top box. Use your mouse or the tab key to move you to the next box. Do not hit enter.

4. Your password is the second code on the strip you received in the mail. Type this code in the bottom box.

5. Click enter.

6. You should now be looking at your student’s information. If you are not try again. The numbers and letters are case sensitive. If you struggle have your children help you.

7. After viewing your student’s data make sure you always logout.

Things you can look at once your are in the system include the following.

The name of the student and grade level will be at the top of your screen.

You will also see a box that is labeled Grades and Attendance. This box is a record of your students grades and attendance as they are currently in the system. You will see that some letters and numbers are represented in blue. If you click on an item in blue, you will see that they are a link to another screen. The teacher’s names, current percentage grade, and any absences on the right side of the box should be in blue. See below. (Blue not represented in this drawing.)

If you are using outlook for your email system you can click directly on the teacher’s name and send an email. If you are not, you will have to click on the teacher’s name, copy the email address, and paste it into the email system you are using. (Example: Yahoo, Hotmail, etc..)If you click on the grade percent this will take you to the teacher’s gradebook and show you a listing of your student’s assignments. The expectation of the district is that teachers will have graded assignments in the computer before they leave on Monday each week. So, Tuesday morning would be a good time to check for current updates. The absence and tardy number in blue will give you a date of the occurance.

At the bottom of the page is a legend of the codes used in your child’s school when marking absences.

Grade and attendance history when clicked on will take you to a link that shows you past semester or quarter information. Keep in mind when using these buttons that we have only had the system in place since August. Icons are listed below.

Email Notification [pic]

This icon will allow you to put an email address in the system and have your student’s grade and/or attendance sent to your email address. You need to mark how often you would like them sent and then click on submit. Emails are automatically generated on Friday evening.

Teacher Comments [pic]

When clicked on, this icon will take you to a link that gives you a list of comments and the teacher’s name that made the comment.

School Bulletin[pic]

This will take you to the daily news for your student’s school. This can also be accessed directly by logging in at for Sabetha Elementary, for Sabetha Middle School,

for Sabetha High School,

for Wetmore Elementary

and for Wetmore High School.

Keep in mind that some of the schools are not using this feature yet.
