Public Workshop Notice: Use of Utility AB 32 Auction Revenue (R.1103012)

This workshop is part of the Commission’s GHG proceeding (R.11-03-012). During this workshop, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Southern California Edison Company, and San Diego Gas & Electric Company (jointly) and PacifiCorp will briefly present their updated Ratepayer Impact Models, for use in evaluating the rate impacts of auction revenue use proposals. These short presentations will focus on explaining any changes to those models from the versions presented in November 2011.

The workshop will also provide an opportunity for parties to discuss their revised proposals for the use of cap-and-trade emissions allowance revenues for 2013 and beyond. These proposals must be filed and served not later than Friday, January 6, 2011, at noon, to ensure that parties have an opportunity to review them before the workshop. Commission staff and parties in attendance at the workshop will have the opportunity to ask clarifying questions regarding the allowance revenue proposals presented.

NOTICE OF RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCELERATED RETIREMENT DATE FOR HUNTINGTON BEACH GENERATING UNITS 3 AND 4

Resolution EGPB-12A modifies Resolution EGPB-12 by accelerating the permanent retirement date for Huntington Beach Generating Units 3 and 4 from October 31, 2011 to January 12, 2012.

On December 29, 2011, the draft resolution was mailed to the attached service list, pursuant to California Public Utilities Code Section 311(g) and Rule 14.5 of the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. The two known parties stipulated to a reduced comment period of 10 days. Comments shall be served no later than January 9, 2012, and reply comments shall be served no later than January 10, 2012.

Res EGPB-12A will be on the agenda for the January 12, 2012 Commission meeting. The Commission may then vote on this draft resolution, or it may postpone a vote.

Resolution L-429 authorizes disclosure of records concerning the California Public Utilities Commission (Commission) Consumer Protection and Safety Division’s investigation of August 11, 2011 electric incident at Paseo Noche in Camarillo, California, once the investigation is complete.
