The Huskies Volleyball Media Guide has the potential to be our largest team fundraiser. Each player is encouraged to sell as many advertisements as possible. We’d like to see lots of parents purchase a tribute ad for their daughter.

As you may be aware funding for sports has been reduced. In order for us to keep three teams and coaches for those teams we must fundraise. We will use the profit from this fundraiser for uniforms, tournament fees, coaching stipends, transportation fees, team activities, new equipment, and our end-of-season awards banquet (to name a few!).

Why Offer a Volleyball Media Guide?

The Husky Volleyball Media Guide is a wonderful tribute and a great memento of each season. The production costs of the program, as well as a portion of our team costs are funded by these advertisements. Support from all of our families is encouraged. Remember to ask local merchants and businesses with who you are in regular contact, such as cleaners, dentists, doctors, restaurants.

In addition to the ads, the Media Guide will include team and individual photos. We encourage your family and friends to buy space for an individual tribute to the athlete, especially seniors. Banners that will hang in the gym are also available. The banners will hang in the gym during the volleyball season.

Checklist for Ads

• Complete ad for each ad sold.

• Ads MUST be “copy ready” and sized according to the size chart on the ad form. What is “Copy Ready”? Finished art or printed matter that is ready as-is to be published.

• Attach a copy of the ad and artwork to the Ad Form and turn it in with the payment. We want to make sure nothing is lost or changed when emailed.

• Email ad artwork as a “jpeg” or “pdf” file to: mikenmargo@

• Include the following information in the email for each ad:

School Name

Athlete’s full name, Varsity, JV, or Frosh

Purchaser’s Name, Day Phone Number

Size of ad purchased.

• Use paperclips to attach artwork to ad form.

We are pleased to offer the Huskies Volleyball Program for your advertising consideration. The Huskies have found success on the court. Besides being successful on the court the girls are also successful in the classroom. We want to carry on in the same tradition and are asking for your support. Tips & Ideas to help secure Media Guide Ads

• Set a goal: target some number of ads or a specific dollar amount

• The amount of work you do is equal to the success you will have

• You may have to ask several people/businesses to get a single ad

• Ask all your teachers, coaches, family and friends, aunts, uncles, grandparents etc.

• Use all forms of communication: Remember to Make it Personal

If anyone is interested, you can email a copy of the ad forms

• Remember to tell everyone when you need to have the ad art and payment.

Here are some tips for Asking businesses…

• Plan where you want to go… make a list … select a shopping center and go to all businesses in that center …

• Target local shopping centers in your area.

• You can go on your own or take a teammate.

• Try to visit businesses in the off hours - they will have more time to listen to you.

• Prepare what you want to say before you get there.

• Take paper and pen to keep notes.

• Wear your volleyball t-shirt - Very important!

• Leave a copy of the ad form with them and a phone number to contact you.

• Keep track of the contacts that you make so you are able to follow-up.

• You will want to keep track of the business name, Who you need to speak to, A contact phone number and when to contact them. Often times it takes more than one visit to get an ad.

• You must follow up with the business to get the ad, most will not call you.
