Mathematics
Course Goals
The Primary goal of this course is to use practical applications, and hands-on experiences to increase our knowledge of IB Mathematics. Our progress will be measured using daily teacher observations, formative and summative assessments, traditional progress checks, participation, IB Internal Assessment, and the IB Exams. Beyond these traditional forms of assessments, each student is responsible to self-assess and reflect on their own growth.
Classroom Rules
I have 5 classroom rules, which will be followed so that we might have a productive year.
1. Be on time.
2. Stay in your assigned seat.
3. Clean up your area after class.
4. Treat everyone with respect (Do unto others as you would have them do unto you).
5. Give 100 % effort every day!!!
Classroom Procedures
Check Website daily for homework and information that may not have been mentioned in class
Upon arrival to class please begin working on the Warm-Up activity on the board and place your homework on your desk (All classwork and homework must show all work; any assignment without showing work will not be accepted). Classwork not turned in at the end of the class period will not be accepted. Late homework will be accepted before the deadline for a grade no higher than a C. It is your responsibility to obtain the day’s notes, and complete all assignments you have missed due to an absence from class (No grade deductions for absences). Place any make up work in the bin on my desk along with any admit for that day.
Passes will not be issued during the first 15 minutes of class or the last 15 minutes of class. NO EXCEPTIONS. Only 1 person can use the pass at a time. You must sign the bathroom log before leaving the classroom and ALWAYS take the bathroom pass. 5 minutes per pass. If you do not use the bathroom pass for the nine weeks, you will receive extra-credit.
