Steve Schweer was officially named the 18th head coach in the history of the Illinois College Blueboys basketball program on April 23, 2018. In Schweer's first season at Illinois College, the Blueboys more than doubled their conference victories, posted the most wins since the 2013-14 season, and became the most prolific three-point shooting team in program history. This past year in a shortened season, the Blueboys went 7-2 including an undefeated record against Midwest Conference opponents and an undefeated record at home.

Schweer is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, where he was a four-year member of the men's basketball program, winning three CCIW championships and competing in the NCAA Tournament all four years as a player, including advancing to the Final Four in 2006. Coach Schweer is an active NABC member with over 16 years of experience working and directing summer camps.

THE 24TH ANNUAL ILLINOIS COLLEGE BOYS BASKETBALL CAMP

is open to boys who will begin grades 4-9 in the fall of 2021. The junior camp is for boys entering grades 2-3 in the fall of 2021. The camp will focus on fundamentals and individual skills including shooting, ball handling, passing, defense and post moves. Advanced techniques of team offense and defense including both 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 game play will also be significant portions of the camp.

Campers will receive instruction from some of the area's finest coaches and current members of the Blueboy roster. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt and personalized evaluations completed by the camp staff, as well as awards on the final day of camp. Full day campers will be responsible for bringing their own lunch each day, and all campers should plan to bring their own water bottle or container. Campers will be required to follow Illinois College COVID protocol, including (but not limited to) parental waiver at registration and daily temperature and symptom checks.
