Beginner - Only students who have completed less than 10 hours of UCM Photography coursesExisting Light: Images made using sunlight, window light, or any ambient light source.Controlled Light: Images made using artificial light, such as strobe, flash, or hot lights.Advanced - Recommended for students who have completed more than 10 hours of UCM photography courses but is open to a ny photography major or minor.Architecture & Design: Includes images of buildings and/or structures as well as designs such as lines, patterns, shapes, and colors.Black & White: The subject matter of this category is open-ended. Focus will be placed on the science and techniques behind the image in addition to the art. Children & Family: Images of family groups, children, and infants. Photographer must sign entry form to admit possession of a model mercial: Photographs that promote an enterprise, business, product, or brand. Includes photographs of product that could be used for advertising, such as food, glassware, cosmetics, etc. Digital Manipulation: Photographs that have been drastically altered or manipulated digitally, not just digitally retouched. Photos must be of photographic origin and camera based. Includes HDR.Fashion: Photographs that depict style through the use of clothing, makeup, hairstyles, etc. Often, but not limited to, images that could be used for fashion advertising.Fine Art: Photography made primarily for aesthetics and/or concept.High School Senior: Images of high school seniors, from classic to contemporary, that showcase the senior and reveal their personality. No other sizes will be accepted. Actual print size must be at least 8”x10”. Panoramic prints must be at least 10” on the longest side. Dry mounting, window matting, and flush mounting are all acceptable forms.ALL prints must be the original work of the photographer submitting the image.Photographs must be titled.When entering a photograph with a recognizable person, the photographer must sign the entry form recognizing that they have a model release. Photos in the media/editorial category involving public events are exempt from this.No images entered in any prior EXPO competition will be accepted.Currently enrolled students, faculty, staff, graduate assistants, and graduate students of UCM are allowed to enter photographs for judging.All images must be entered into a specific category, however, Photo Society officers and the EXPO coordinator reserve the right to reclassify entries if necessary.No identifying information may be present on the print.
