|JOB PURPOSE |

|To ensure service Users are supported to maintain maximum independence, attending to personal, physical and emotional needs as and when required. Undertake|

|a Supervisory role and administrative duties in accordance with CIW regulations, Social Care Wales Code of Practice and Pembrokeshire County Council |

|Policies and Procedures to support the Registered Home Manager. |

| |

|PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES |

|To prepare, monitor, update and review all documentation of each individual Service User, including Risk Assessments. |

|To complete Pre Admission assessments as necessary. |

|Ensure Home is adequately staffed and report/ manage any absences. |

|To attend bi monthly supervision with Registered Home Manager and Personal Development Reviews |

|Complete Bi monthly supervision with care staff. |

|To ensure that all care staff are trained to a high standard. Monitor and organise training through individual supervisions and recognise any areas for |

|development. |

|Attend Senior Care and team meetings. |

|Manage Medication within the Home in accordance with CIW standards |

|Arrange Service Users admissions and discharges, planned and in an emergency, also co ordinate any GP, Hospital and clinic appointments. |

|Liaise with Multi Disciplinary teams, relatives etc. |

|Maintain high standards of Health and Safety and Infection Control. Report and document any incidents, accidents and or faults in accordance with |

|procedures. |

|Be responsible for the security of the building and the safety of all those within when on duty. |

|Assist the Registered Home Manager with the Recruitment and Selection process. |

|Ensure that practices within the Home meet with CIW Regulations. |

|Maintain Confidentiality and ensure all Data Protection policies/requirements are followed at all times. |

|Maintain Registration with Social Care Wales. |

|Complete any other duties that may be deemed necessary by the Registered Home Manger, in times of need within the Home. |

|PERSON SPECIFICATION |

|Possess NVQ Level 3/ QCF level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or be close to completing. |

|Knowledge and accredited training in the Management of Medication within Social Care. |

|Ability to work flexible hours days/ nights to the needs of the Home. |

|Good, clear communication skills both oral and written |

|Knowledge of IT systems |

|Experience of inducting/ training staff. |

|A proven ability to work as part of a team but also on your own initiative. |

|An ability to lead and motivate staff and work with multidisciplinary teams. |

|Relevant experience of working with the elderly preferably within a Supervisory role. |

|Knowledge of CIW Regulations, Community Care legislation and Social Care Wales Codes of Practice. |

|A full clean driving licence is desirable |

|The ability to speak welsh would be an advantage. |
