0-114300 Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis ReservationJOB DESCRIPTIONTitle: IT Network Systems AnalystDepartment: Information Technology Location: Information Technology OfficeSupervisor: Director, Information TechnologyClassification:Full Time, ExemptPay Grade: 26==========================================================================Job Summary: Responsible for installation, setup, maintenance, and monitoring of the local and the enterprise-wide area networks for the Chehalis Tribe. Performs a variety of maintenance, evaluation, installation and training tasks to ensure enterprise network performance meets the organization’s requirements.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Evaluates and recommends purchases of network hardware, peripheral equipment, and related software.Installs, configures and maintains servers, networks, network cabling and other related equipment, devices and systems; adds or upgrades and configures routers, switches VOIP systems and related equipment.Plans and implements network security including firewalls, cryptography for network applications, managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, and system integrity.Develops and conducts various training and instruction for IT staff and system users on; assist users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems.Identifies utilization patterns and their effect on operation/system availability and performance expectations.Anticipates communication and networking problems and implements preventive measures.Establishes and performs maintenance programs following company and vendor standards.Ensures timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the network.Documents network problems and resolutions for future reference.Performs additional functions incidental to IT department activities as required.Supervision:Supervision Received: Under general direction, performs work of an independent nature. Must be self-motivated with ability to work without direct supervision.Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees Departmental staff in Director’s absence.Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree in technology field or Associate’s degree and three years experience in technology field.Experience: Minimum three to five years of networking experience.Skills & Abilities: FORMTEXT Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate technical information effectively in a user-friendly and professional manner. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. Ability to read and interpret technical materials. FORMTEXT Mathmatical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in many units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and interpret diagrams, graphs and charts. FORMTEXT Office Equipment: Familiarity with operating systems and software applications. Ability to use general office equipment to include a photocopier, facsimile, and telephone. FORMTEXT Reasoning Ability: Good problem solving skills; ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it. Ability to handle constantly changing flow of traffic; remain productive during slow times, be able to multitask effectively during busy times, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations. Willing to learn about new technologies and take on new challenges as time permits FORMTEXT Interpersonal Skills: Exhibit a friendly presence and helpful attitude. Possess and maintain good interpersonal relationships in a team atmosphere. Ability to project good phone skills and professional demeanor. Ability to have courteous and professional interaction with staff and provide strong customer service base for all organizational technology needs. Previous customer service experience strongly desired. FORMTEXT Work Environment: Able to lift up to 30 pounds. Must be able to move and set-up equipment as needed. FORMTEXT Job Knowledge: Experience diagnosing and configuring networking equipment, including network wiring, switches and routers. Experience with Windows Server 2003 and Linux operating system is required. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, MS Exchange Server 2003, and Blackberry Enterprise Server preferred. Experience with router and switching equipment and cell phone devices is helpful. Knowledge of a range of computer networking and operating systems to include UNIX, Microsoft and Cisco networks. Knowledge of computing and network hardware and peripheral equipment. Ability to install, configures, and maintains, network devices, and related hardware and software. Knowledge of federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software. Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques. Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Ability to provide technical training to end users. Ability to learn and support new systems and applications. IT Project Management experience and training.Additional Requirements:Submit to and pass a Drug TestSuccessfully complete a Criminal Background Check.
