News and Views…
Welcome to another week at School.
Congratulations…
One of our Year 6 students has been selected to be part of the Mariners training squad for 2012.
Adina Hawkins has been chosen for the position of goalie. Well done Adina. I certainly hope this leads to bigger and better things in your sporting life!
Awards Day…
Another congratulations! This time to all of our 1000 point winners. What a great achievement!
Notes will be coming home today to seek permission for them to attend a special day of fun. The K-2 students will be attending ‘Tin Lids’ and Yrs 3-6 will enjoy 9 holes of golf at Morisset along with lunch.
I certainly hope the weather is kind to us next Monday November 28. Golfers are asked to bring, where possible, a couple of ‘irons’ to use on the day, although we will have the use of some golf clubs kindly offered by the Golf Club.
At this week’s assembly all 1000 point winners will be awarded their certificates and badges. Please come along to celebrate this event!
Year 3 / 4 Camp…
Congratuations to our campers!
By all accounts apart from the wet weather our kids had a very successful camp. Mrs Gibbons and Mrs Bateman said their attitude and behaviour was a credit to the school.
School surveys…
If you were one of the lucky parents that received a school survey could I encourage you to spend some time completing and returning it to school.
As our Yrs 3 and 4 children were at camp, we are giving them a survey and extending the return date to Wednesday December 7. It is imperative that we get feedback from our community to help us plan our future direction. Thankyou.
Absences…
All teachers are sending home notes to gather reasons why a child has been absent from school at any time and a reason has not been given.
If you receive one of these notes simply add the reason and return to the school. This is a Department of Education requirement.
Regards

5/6B students have been studying the Eureka Stockade as part of their Gold Unit of Work. Students made their own Eureka flag and attached the oath of the Eureka flag to it and discussed the significance of the flag and its oath. The words are very powerful. “We swear by the Southern Cross to stand truly by each other and fight to defend our rights and liberties”

As part of “You Can Do It” 5/6B has been looking at overcoming challenges in our lives. They explored many inspirational quotes that may motivate them to deal with the issues life sometimes throws their way. The students made posters using their favourite quotes and wanted to share some of these with the rest of the school.
Childhood is a journey, not a race. – Abbey.
Believe and you will achieve. – Zeek.
You never fail until you stop trying. – Jessica S.
Work hard, play fair and you will succeed. - Saxon
