[Pages:1]We had a tremendous me in September! We started off with a trip to the Zoo. We had so much fun! We got to see all the awesome animals. Everyone agreed that the best part of the day was being able to feed the giraffes. Thank you to all the volunteers and family that helped make this trip happen.

O ur Naonal Assisted Living Week was filled with excing acvies. We started it off with our annual Grandparents picnic on such a beauful day but a lile cool for the courtyard; however, the residents got to enjoy some great entertainment with Greg Piscara. Thank you to all of our families who brought in such wonderful side dishes and desserts to share. The staff appreciaon party that the resident threw for all the employees was amazing! The residents worked hard on the cerficates, they ordered pizza and a cake which it was a huge success.

We also had our annual employee/ family / resident baking contest. Joey L. took first place for best in show and taste with his Tennessee Whiskey cake. Maria R., Joan B.'s daughter won best in show with her six layer rainbow cake. Beth M., Andrea M.'s daughter-in-law took best in

taste with her caramel pumpkin cream cake. We had a very wonderful turn out with over 20 desserts. Thank you to everyone who parcipated in making this contest wonderful.

Hospice of Western Reserve gave us a day of relaxaon in which we used all of our five senses in our relaxaon therapy. Everyone le feeling relaxed.

Our family bowling day was great. Village Pinhead's took 1st place; G.V. Crazy Strikers took 2nd place; and the Bey Boopers took 3rd. Joe V. made us a fabulous bowling lane. We had wonderful bowling league shirts that Andrea M., Eleanor D., Joan B., Helen G. all helped make. We had a great me. Our taco party was fabulous. To end our week long celebraon we had a terrific musical program with Steppin-Out.

Employee of the Month

Doris P. was born August 29, 1930, in Lakewood, Ohio, where she grew up with her parents and two brothers. She graduated from Lakewood High and worked as a secretary until she met and married Emil Pack. They moved to California and welcomed two children. After a divorce, she moved back to Ohio, and in 1971 she met and married Bob P. They lived in Bainbridge in a home that Bob had built.

Doris loved gardening, crocheting and wood working with Bob, being his "gofer". Doris and Bob had a vacation home in Sarasota and visited there many years before eventually becoming "snow birds". Doris loved the beach. She enjoyed the waves, sun and especially collecting shells. In Bainbridge they enjoyed going out to dinner with their friends and playing cards every week. Doris and Bob had 10 grandchildren and 10 great grand-children.

Paul James Hopkins was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Jim and Jackie Hopkins. He was the 4th child of six. Paul graduated from Kirtland High School in 2007. Shortly after graduation, Paul got a job at an Italian restaurant, where he worked until he found Governor's Village. Paul has worked in the food industry since he was 13 years old. He loves every part of being a chef and finds delight in watching people enjoy the meal he has prepared for them.

In his spare time, Paul enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys making people laugh. Paul says laughter is love. Some of Paul's hobbies included playing sports, going to shooting range, watching movies, cooking, eating what he has cooked, fighting crime, (laugh hahaha), Clint Eastwood impersonations, high fiving and jump rope competition. Paul has won several 1st place ribbons. Paul also enjoys backyard pillow fighting and proclaims he is the neighborhood champ.
