Place a variety of musical instruments in the middle of the circle. What instrument is it? What sound will it make? Allow the children to explore the different instruments and their sounds. Tap out a simple beat using an instrument and encourage the children to join in. e.g. 1,2,3,4 Can they listen closely to the beat? Change the speed and tone of the beat. Can they adjust the sound they made using the instrument?
