Welcome to seventh grade science! This science class will explore three scientific areas: The Diversity of Living Things, Matter and Energy, and Earth’s Water and Atmosphere. Each unit of study will involve the use of technology, hands-on lab activities, independent work, group activities and classroom discussions; all requiring the use of scientific inquiry skills. We also take several field trips during the school year that are directly tied to the science curriculum.

Each student will be issued an interactive, Chromebook. Students will need to bring their Chromebook and a spiral notebook to class every day.

Students can also access their science textbook online at . They will need to use their computer access information to logon.

Students may be absent from time to time. If a student is absent from science class, it is their responsibility to find out what assignments they missed during their absence.

I expect students to come prepared to class, complete all assignments and turn them in on time.

7th Grade Level Daily Work Assignment and Assessment Guidelines policy states:

• Daily work assignments and assessments are considered late if submitted after the teacher’s established due date.

• The highest grade a student may earn on a daily work assignment and/or an assessment submitted after the teacher’s established due date will be a 70%.

• Daily work assignments received two weeks after the teacher’s established due date will not be accepted.

Students will be given grade checks throughout each quarter which can be signed by parents and returned for extra credit points. Progress reports for students having a failing grade in science will be sent home during the third week of each grading period. You can also track your student’s progress using Parent View on Infinite Campus. You can sign up for the Parent View in the office
