Overview

This course will give students an introduction to the principles used in non-structural Interior Decorating and Design principals. Interior Decorating and Design is the Art and Science of enhancing an interior of a building in order to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for those engaging in the space. The skills acquired will equip students with the relevant entrepreneurial foundations in order to work in the industry, apply the decorating and design principals in a practical manner, plan and manage projects and start their own Business in this exciting field should they choose.

This course was developed by AIE in partnership with Greenside Design Center, leaders in the Interior Design industry.

1. Graduates will be introduced to the field of Interior Design and Decorating in one combined skills packed program.

2. The programme integrates multiple leading 2D & 3D CAD software including AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit Architecture and SketchUp, accepted by industry at the value of thousands of Rands, a critically advantageous consideration for any employer when considering new designers.

3. Creative and design tools for graphic editing, illustration and presentation is based on industryleading software Adobe Creative Suite.

4. Virtual and Augmented Reality technology is incorporated into this program (Read more below)

Duration

Full Time ? 10 months(+-10 Sessions/Week, 2:00

hours each, class times are between 08:30 ? 12:00 or 12:30 ? 16:00) ? All hours are achieved via your study durationat the institute and project-based assignments

*Sessions will be grouped together to lower cost of traveling, however, in some cases classes may not follow this convention and schedules are subject to change.

Part Time & Online ? Part Time = 10 months (2 x evening

classes, 18:00 to 21:00, Mon & Wed OR Tues & Thur) ? Hours are obtained through a combination of live virtual Q&A sessions, pre-recorded video lectures and project-based tasks. ? Online = 10 Months (Online live Q&A classes, once/week, 17:00 - 18:00)

On successful completion of this qualification, you can articulate into the following:
