In 1 9 1 5 , the Building Owne rs and Manage rs Asso c iatio n Inte rnatio nal (BOMA) deve lo pe d a standard me tho d fo r me asuring flo o r are a in o ffic e buildings. The BOMA standard was revise d in 1 9 5 2 , 1 9 5 5 , 1 971 , 1 9 8 0 , 1 9 8 9 , and 1 9 9 6 and now be ars the title Standard Me tho d fo r Me asuring Flo o r Are a in Offic e Buildings, ANSI/BOMA Z6 5 .1 -1 9 9 6 .
